• As I stood by the door of the club, fiddling with my phone, I couldn’t shake the feeling of anticipation and unease that coursed through me. I had seen Caden’s car parked out front, the sleek black Cadillac unmistakable in the dim light. The last time I had seen it was when he had left the bistro with Lila, and that knowledge made my heart race a little faster. It was one thing to know they were together, but it was entirely different to see them in a place like this.
• I hadn’t planned on waiting for them, but curiosity got the better of me. I had tried to get into the VIP section earlier, but the bouncer had turned me away. I sighed, my breath mingling with the cold night air, and pulled out my phone to check for any messages. Maybe I could text Ronan and get a hint about what was happening.
