• I walked into the lab, the familiar scent of sterile equipment and faint chemicals filling the air. I didn’t have anything specific to do here, nothing I really needed to carry or sort through. So I just sat on one of the metal stools near the counter and stared at the empty space, wondering what the hell had happened earlier.
• The lunch, Caden and the way he looked at me. It felt like he was a ticking time bomb waiting to be detonated. But why?
