Chapter 5

  • This might just be speculations, so she decided to go ahead to the address, it was the same place that she escaped from one month ago and she was beginning to wonder whether fate was playing a trick on her intelligence, but her curiosity wouldn’t let her be. So she knocked on the door and the same maids who insulted her last time were the ones who ushered her in to the house. At this rate she was going to get a heart attack. Why do things keep on haunting her like that?
  • “What do you want? The maid asked in an impatient voice.” Young master Logan is not available.”
  • “No I came to see…………” before she could finish the sentence, Aunty Amber appeared from nowhere and was all smiles the moment she laid her eyes on her. The girl was very hardworking and well mannered. She had loved her from the very first moment they met each other.
  • “Honey! You came, I thought you will never come to see me.” just hearing Amber call her honey reminded her of her mother who is back in the village. That is the same name that she usually calls her. She couldn’t help but feel tears rolling down her cheeks.
  • “Don’t just stand there, come over here and give me a hug” the maids were dumbfounded beyond words. What the hell was the filthy woman doing with the boss’s mother, if he found out he will come and kill everybody in the house.
  • “Aunty Amber, It is good to see you again, but you look so much different. Were you discharged from the hospital?”
  • “It’s a long story I will tell you one day. As for now tell me what happened to you when you suddenly left the hospital. Where did you go? Did my good for nothing son…………”
  • Just before she finished uttering the words, Sally was surprised to hear someone behind her.
  • “Mother, you always talk bad about me when I am not around? What did I do this time? He asked looking intently at Sally. He didn’t even know why she came all the way here when she was the one who ran away not long ago.
  • “Have you two met?”
  • Willy beat her to answer to the question before Sally could say something stupid that will end up spoiling his mother’s good mood.
  • “Yes, I found her as you wanted, mum.” Willy instantly transformed in to someone different. He was no longer cold but very gentle and loving towards his mother. You could just see that he adores her so much and was capable of doing anything in the world just to make her happy.
  • “Honey, does he treat you well? Asked Amber as she held Sally’s hands .she could feel all the warmth emanating from her and somehow all the days stress disappeared.
  • With tears in her eyes she muttered” Very Well Aunty, don’t you ever get worried “ Sally just wished that she could stay like that for ever with the woman. She felt at home but now it was clear to her why the damn Willy had been bullying her to marry him.
  • This was all Amber’s plan , she had mentioned before that even though they had known each other for a short period, she recognized that she was a valuable girl and would have wished her to become her daughter in law one day.
  • How could she know that she was serious? She was the most unwanted person on earth and never in her life could she have imagined that such a distinguished woman would take an interest in her?
  • While still in a daze looking at the woman in front of her, she felt soft hands caressing her on her cheeks. For an instant she was startled and recoiled back a little after noticing that it was Willy.
  • What the hell was he doing in front of his mother? She couldn’t help asking herself but deep inside she knew that the guy hated her so much and there was no way he would have wanted to be close to her. Probably he was just doing that for a show to his mother.
  • Then he bent down and placed a soft kiss on her lips, which did the trick as his mother started smiling with appreciation. She felt his masculine scent on her nose and she had the same feeling that somehow the guy was familiar.
  • He laughed sarcastically as he said.
  • “Mom, excuse us for a minute we will be right back.” He held her wrists again the second time in a day and led her out of the room to a bit distanced place where his mother wouldn’t hear them talk.
  • The moment they stepped outside, he grabbed her shoulders and pushed her hard on the wall. She hit her head and started feeling things going around, the room was spinning and all of a sudden she was engulfed with darkness.
  • Willy started panicking immediately, the damn girl was so weak. He only gave her a little push and she has fainted now.
  • What am I going to do with her? My mom will soon come looking for her if we don’t show up? Why am I always unable to control my anger? Oh God please help me? Let this little lamp not be dead.
  • He knew that Nina Jones was the one who saved his life that night, but why does he feel that this Sally was more like the woman. She was fearless and innocent. Yes, maybe it is because they are sister, hence the resemblance.
  • Sally was dreaming in her subconscious state. She felt a person lift her up and then place her on top of something soft. However the person didn’t go away from her side and kept on shaking her to wake up.
  • He was shaking her vigorously until she started feeling nauseated and wanted to vomit all over the place, she abruptly opened her eyes and saw the man pacing back and forth in the room.
  • The place looked really nice .It was painted with blue and full of artifacts that must have cost a fortune to buy. Judging by the look of things inside, it was a male bedroom.
  • She lifted her head up and muttered softly” What happened?”
  • “Finally you are awake. “ The worried face that he had on now turned in to a dark and emotionless man whom she knew hated her. He was only trying to accommodate her presence so as to please his mother.
  • We had a small confrontation but now that you are awake, we have a pending matter to discuss.” The jerk didn’t even care that she was in so much pain and that he was the cause of it. She just needed a moment of silence and the headache on her forehead might go away, but the man wouldn’t shut up.
  • “Why did you come looking for my mother?” asked Willy.
  • “She is my friend and I just wanted to see her. I didn’t even know that she was your mother? Why do you always attach some kind of motive to everything that I do?”
  • “Can you blame me? Because I am very sure that you are looking for money.” If that is what he thinks of me then I would not deny it, it’s his fault that I lost the days earnings and he will pay me.
  • “Yes I can’t deny that she helped me some time back and I knew that she wouldn’t refuse me this time again. However I really needed a loan from her and I was going to pay back as soon as I can.
  • “Let’s have a deal. I will fulfill my mother’s wish of marrying you, but we will only be married for 6 months after that we will divorce and we will each go our separate ways. I will pay you a good amount of money after you have performed your part well. You will never have to worry about money for the rests of your life.
  • Was he really serious? In that case this is an opportunity that I can’t miss. I will beat two birds with one stone. On one hand I will be making my friend happy by making her wish come true and on the other hand I will be securing a better future for the child I am carrying.
  • With the amount of symptoms she was having each passing day she was now sure that she was pregnant, all she will do was to go to the hospital for confirmation.
  • “If you need money you should have asked me because I know that is the only thing that interests you.”
  • “Deal but in two conditions”
  • “I am listening”
  • “I want you to give me enough capital to start my own restaurant business. I have always dreamed of becoming a chef and I never had the opportunity to go to the college but I know I will be a good Chef one day.”
  • “I agree what else?”
  • “This one is very hard for me to ask, given the opinion that you have formed against me. I desperately need money. Can you please lend me some?
  • “How much”
  • “50,000 dollars”
  • Money was not a problem to him, however the woman was asking for too much money and he wondered what the hell she wanted it for. There must be something serious really bothering her to the extent of agreeing to work in the filthy brothel.
  • He couldn’t get out of his head the images of her dressed like a cheat prostitute in the club.
  • “Alright I will give you half right now and the rest in installments. All you have to do is treat my mother well and accompany her all the time that she will be here. You will have to avoid the nonsense of trying to escape again.”
  • “You have my word, I won’t do it again.”
  • “Can you be able to stand up on your own?” He asked after noticing that she was still looking so tired and pale. Partly it was his fault that she almost ended up dead.
  • “Yes” She tried to stand up but the room was still spinning around. It must be because she had not eaten well since madam Vero fed her. She also knew that apart from the pain on the back of her head, the dizziness was due to her pregnancy.
  • He sighed softly but as much as he didn’t want to be gentle with her, he still held her shoulder and directed her to the living room. His mother was waiting for them patiently when they finally appeared on the room.
  • “What took you so long?
  • “Nothing mom, we were just discussing on how to get our marriage certificate and I think we should head over to the civil registry bureau to get it.”
  • “That will be nice my son, I would have liked a big wedding for the both of you. However as you know, we are being courteous and nobody is supposed to know that I am out of the mental facility. They will come and kill me.”
  • Sally mouth opened so wide that she didn’t even realize it. Who would want to kill this nobble woman who was like an angel from heaven?
  • “Aunty Amber, what are you talking about?”
  • “You shouldn’t have heard that honey, be patient I will soon tell you. However I have a surprise for you and don’t ask me to tell you because then it won’t be a surprise any more. Hurry up, go and bring me the certificates.
  • “Go and wait for me in the car.” Willy instructed her. He needed to get some things straight with his mother. But what he didn’t know was that Amber also wanted to warn him.
  • “You little bastard, don’t you dare play around with that girl. She doesn’t have any idea that I know what she is going through, but she is the best woman for you. She has a kind heart and she is the only one who will be able to stand you.”
  • “When I leave this city, I want to be sure that I have left you in a better place than before. I want to have peace with myself because I know that your life have not been easy at all.”
