Chapter 2

  • Sally sighed a relief and looked at the doctor appreciatively, at least she had survived and that was all that mattered. She didn’t mind that she had to go through a very rough night with the strange man but she was grateful.
  • “Thank you so much Doctor, you don’t know how much weight you have lifted off my shoulder.” Tears of happiness slowly traveled down her cheeks. It seemed that she had been crying all through this time as her cheeks were red. Her eyes were swollen and blood shot but now she could manage a smile.”
  • “Have some faith Sally, your mum is a very strong woman and I am very confident that she will wake up soon.”
  • “I really can’t thank you enough, but can I go see her? “
  • “Of course, now I will take my leave so that I can attend to other patients who really need my attention. Take care.”
  • As she opened the door, she couldn’t help but look at the frail woman who was soundly sleeping on the bed. You could just think that she was just resting and only Sally knew how much of an emotional stress she had to go through because of her situation.
  • Her skin was so pale, but still Amelia was the most gorgeous woman that she had ever seen. She hadn’t visited her back to the village for a while and she missed her so much. It is just that she was saving enough money for her to be able to bring her brother to the city and now that he was no more she will have to focus her entire attention to her mother.
  • “Oh sweet mommy, wake up soon. I really need to talk and laugh with you. “
  • However she knew that it will be impossible for her to wake up, she can only hope that things will be fine with her.
  • Besides something was still disturbing her, where was the money that Uncle Alex promised, she already fulfilled her part and he promised to transfer the money immediately? As of now she was yet to receive any bank notification on her phone.
  • So she picked up her cell phone and dialed Alex number, after the third ring he picked it up.
  • “Yes, what do you want? He asked as if he had forgotten their deal. How could he be that cruel to her?”
  • “Where is the money?” asked Sally.
  • “Why should I give you any money little brat? The whole of your family should die for all I care. All I am interested in is to make good impression on the Logan family so as to improve my business. Don’t call me again for this nonsense. This matter is over between us.”
  • “Uncle, I hate you. After all that you people made me go through, you still refuse to pay me? You are the one who is very stupid and hope that you all suffer the worst fate possible. You will come to beg me one day and I will never forgive you.”
  • Although he was her elder, she never wanted to insult him, but now he went overboard and she felt like giving him a piece of her mind. After all, thanks to the money that the strange man left on the table she was at least able to save her mother’s life.
  • It has been a month now since she has been taking care of her mother at the hospital. She was getting stronger each passing day and she was planning to take her back to her small apartment which she had been living in all this while after she was chased out of the Jones family a month ago.
  • “Honey, Why are you so sad like that? It is about your brother? If it’s that, we will make sure to visit his grave and put lots of flowers and candles for him when I leave the hospital” Amelia said.
  • “A little and something else.” To tell the truth she had to choose between her job and taking care of her sick mother. Since she couldn’t let her be alone, she decided to leave work for a while. Now that she had been discharged from the hospital, Sally was planning on going back to beg the facility director to give her another chance.
  • Sally knew that she wasn’t going to be able to take care of her mother with no money at all. She was so depressed about this.
  • “Where did you get the money for the hospital bills?” Amelia had been observing her daughter for a while now and she seemed to be different and thus the question to where she was able to raise the money in such a short period kept on haunting her.
  • There was no way she was going to tell her the truth. This was her secret and even her mother didn’t even need to know. She will never forgive her and that will break her heart. So she lied on her face.
  • “I borrowed it from a friend and I promised her to pay later.” She didn’t bother looking straight at her eyes because she knew that she was not a good liar and her eyes will end up betraying her. As Amelia observed her she didn’t want to insist any more so she decided to let the matter rests for now.
  • So the important day came and Amelia was discharged from the hospital. She didn’t want to waste time because the money that she was still left with was too little. She bid her mother goodbye and headed to the mental clinic to beg for her job back.
  • When she reached the gate she was approached by some men in black suit. They were so scary and serious and she wondered what they wanted with her. As far as she was concerned she had never wronged anybody, besides she only needed her job back and nothing else.
  • “Ma’am, are you Sally Foster? One of the men asked.
  • “Yes, that is me. How can I help you?”
  • “I am sorry but your presence is needed in the car parked over there.” He pointed at a luxurious car parked at the hospital parking lot”
  • She sensed danger and wanted to run away, but somehow she knew that she wouldn’t even take a single step before they could catch up with her, so she gave up on the thought and tried to reason with them. However they acted impatiently and dragged her all the way to the car as she screamed her voice out.
  • The men in black suits lifted her and easily dumped her on the backseat of the car where she came face to face with the coldest person she had ever seen in her life. Just the mere look at him sent shivers all through her body.
  • As she stole a few looks at him, she realized that he was a very handsome man but brought out an aura of domineering and power. Why do all this handsome men have to be this cold? She asked herself but didn’t realize that she had said the words aloud and even the man heard what she said.
  • “Are you talking to me?”
  • If she was trying so hard to be calm, now she was frightened. She kept her head bowed down and never dared to look at his face again.
  • “Listen lady, I hear that I am supposed to marry you. I don’t know what you have done but I don’t like you at all, but because I want to fulfill my mother’s wish you are going to come with me immediately.”
  • Why does the man’s voice sound familiar? Where had they met before? All this thoughts continued in her mind as she sat there on his side in a stance.
  • As Willy Logan looked at the pitiful woman on his side, he wondered why the hell his mother would want her to marry such a disgusting woman. She wasn’t even his type and she looked dirty and unkempt.
  • “What? Look stranger I don’t know you and I don’t even wish to marry you. I only came here to beg for my job back and I have no idea who your mother is. Just let me go and we would pretend that this never happened.”
  • “So you are pretending and yet you are one of those ladies who wouldn’t waste a chance to marry in to the wealthiest family. What kind of games are you trying to play now?”
  • He hated the woman even more but he had no any other choice or else his mother will skin him alive if he didn’t return with the damn woman.
  • “I have a sick mother who needs me. Can you at least let me go look after her and we will take care of this matter later.” She was only trying her luck and if he would have made even the slightest mistake to set her free she would have fled so far away he wouldn’t have managed to find her.
  • But the next word that came out of his mouth really crashed her spirits and she just sat back on the seat emotionless.
  • “Woman do you think that I am that stupid? Why would I let you go? You are going to stay with me no matter what. You are going to be my legal wife and I am going to be your legal husband.
  • “Drive the car back to the mansion.” He instructed the chauffer.
  • “I hate you bastard why don’t you listen to me .I am not interested in your money or marrying you .I want to go and be with my mother.”
  • Seeing that he just ignored her and continued scrolling on his phone chatting with who knows who, she became really agitated and grabbed his shirt’s collars, she started shaking him but he gave her a dark and evil stare that made her froze back on the seat. This man was scary and she didn’t want to stay with him even one more minute.
  • “If you dare touch me again with your filthy hands, I will kill you and I mean it. So you better start to behave yourself or I will lose the little patience I still have for you.”
  • This stupid woman was really pissing him off, as if it wasn’t enough he now has to take her to his house, nobody was supposed to come to disturb his peace.
  • Immediately the car parked on the front of the house, he instructed her to climb down the car and follow him inside. He was walking very fast in long strides and it was becoming difficult for her to catch up with him. The guy continued walking ahead as if he didn’t care at all.
  • The maids saw him and immediately bowed their heads down in greetings. This man…why was he feared this much? Is he some kind of a God? He looked so much unapproachable!
  • “Maids, Take this woman and clean her up.” He instructed and disappeared in to another room that appeared to be the study.
  • “Ma’am please follow us as the boss has instructed”
  • Once in the room the maids thought that she was their boss’s woman and they were prepared to give her the special bath. They all surrounded her and started removing her clothes, but she held on to them tightly.
  • “Don’t worry I will take the bath on my own. Can you all please leave me alone?” She had observed the room all around and she had made mental calculations on what she needed to do once she was left alone.
  • “But you are his woman and we…….” Before they could finish her sentence he cut them short rudely.
  • “You are all wrong, I am just a maid like you, so leave me the hell alone.”
