Chapter 22

• (Cara's POV)
• I should be scared of him; he had killed a man right before my eyes. I should stay away from him, but the moment he let me have a peek into his past, I discovered that in some strange way we were similar. There was this space in his heart, and I wanted to fill it.
• I placed my hands on his chest, tracing lines down to his abdomen. He didn't push me away, and that gave me a little confidence to go further. I might not be as perfect as other girls out here, and I might not be as powerful, but there was something I had that they didn't. I had the Alpha -- at least that's what I believed. He was obsessed, and he didn't hide it. He didn't hide his want, and I loved seeing the bright, burning need in his eyes.
