Chapter 13

  • Gloria was cleaning her dress in the washroom, but then she felt she need to empty her bladder as she has taken a few drinks after coming here.
  • She went inside the toilet, kept her clutch on the counter, and finish her business.
  • When she came out, David was standing inside the washroom, making her surprised.
  • She has surely checked it was a female washroom.
  • Then what he was doing here?
  • “Mr. Collin. You may have come to the wrong place. It’s for females.” Gloria remind him and walk to take her clutch from the counter but she noticed David approaching her.
  • “I have come to exactly where I wanted to be,” David said in a bitter tone.
  • Though Gloria noticed his strange tone, she didn’t want to care for him and tried to leave, but when she tried to touch the doorknob David held her wrist and turn her.
  • Gloria didn’t even realize when in swift motion David has pushed her to the door and she heard a click.
  • David locked the door, and this made her worried.
  • “What do you want, David?” She asked angrily, which made him smirk.
  • “So now you know my name?” David asked in a mocking tone.
  • Gloria was frowning on the face but inside her heart was jackhammering as David was standing in her private space.
  • She has prepared herself all day to react indifferently when she met David but everything run out of the window when he was standing so close to him.
  • Her heart was running a marathon when her brain was thinking indecent thoughts.
  • It didn’t help when David lean forward.
  • She closed her eyes worriedly and move her hand to her chest to protect herself from him scooting backward.
  • But David smirked seeing her on guard like this and mocked himself inwardly.
  • How did their relationship change?
  • Did she ever regard him as someone close to him or did everything that was in the past a facade?
  • Whatever it is he was angry. How could she let the other man touch her when she was acting like he was here to take away her virtue?
  • “So how did it feel to let other men touch you?” He leaned forward and whispered close to his ear, which made her open her eyes wide with shock.
  • “What did you say?” Gloria asked in disbelief.
  • “Didn’t you just let Jonathan touch you inappropriately to seduce him? How did it feel?” David asked coldly, and it made Gloria angry too.
  • “Does this has anything to do with you, Mr. Collin?” Gloria pushed him away and glare at him with anger boiling in her body.
  • What did he think of himself?
  • How dare he accuse her when Jonathan was protecting him?
  • Moreover, who is he to judge her when he cheated when they were still married?
  • “It would be better if we don’t talk about someone’s character Mr. Collin. Because there are people who don’t know how to stay loyal.” Gloria retorted.
  • “And for your answer, I am a single woman. Who I touch and who I seduce is my personal business. This has nothing to do with you.” Gloria spat those words with venom and try to open the door but David was enraged and he stopped her.
  • He pushed her in the door while her back was touching his chest and her face was plastered on the door.
  • “When you will stop acting like a slut? Or this is your nature and you can’t help it.” David said spatting venom with every word.
  • Though Gloria was trying to act strong her heart bleed hearing those insulting remarks.
  • She wanted to talk back, but the word was so heavy she couldn’t utter a single word.
  • Her tears fell, but she carefully hid them from him.
  • “Whether I am modest or Slut, it is none of your business. I would suggest you don’t meddle in other people's matters and try to at least take care of your relationship. Otherwise, your fiance will accuse me of breaking it.” Gloria said with a broken heart.
  • Every word was cutting through her heart, but she didn’t want to show him he still affected her.
  • She will never let him break her again and even though he was doing that he won’t let him see her broken self.
  • She needed to do it not for herself but her son.
  • If they get to know her weakness, they will use it again and she can’t let that happen.
  • Gloria who was full of love and innocence need to wear armor to protect her family.
  • Her word may have affected David as he left her and move back, leaving her.
  • Gloria took the chance and open the door and run away from there.
  • She didn’t want to spend a single moment with him there.
  • David was standing there like a statue as her words stunt her.
  • Her word made her look like he was guilty.
  • But what he have done?
  • If she wouldn’t cheat on him did he ever propose the divorce?
  • Did she think she can act ignorant and put the blame on him while she was the one responsible for breaking their happy marriage?
  • He won’t let it happen.
  • She would have to admit her wrongdoings and he will make her do that.
  • He run out of the bathroom and try to find out, but she noticed her leaving the hotel with Jonathan.
  • Jonathan was holding her intimately as she was leaning against him.
  • “How shameless you can be, Gloria?” David clenched his fist angrily.
  • She dare to blame him and here she was leaving with Jonathan as if nothing happened.
  • When these people were burning in their misunderstanding, they failed to notice someone inside the bathroom stall who witnessed their communication and was burning in anger.
  • How dare this bitch can still attract David after all she has done?
  • How could Lia let all her effort go in vain?
  • She was desperate to do something to make her leave David again.
  • Otherwise, every effort of her will go to waste.
  • She came out of the bathroom and walk toward David.
  • “I was searching for you everywhere. Where were you?” Lia asked with concern attracting David’s attention.
  • “Let’s go,” David said and started to walk out of the party.
  • She was also not interested in staying here as her mood has spoiled long back because of Gloria.
  • David dropped her in his apartment and then drive away from there without giving her any time to start a conversation.
  • Lia stomped her foot and walk inside angrily.
