Chapter 5

  • Five years later
  • Gloria was packing her bag as she need to return to New York.
  • I have been five years since she left the city where she grew up.
  • Though she was in constant touch with his grandparents she tried to keep her away from any news of that city.
  • Many things must have changed in these five years but what she couldn’t change was her heart that still bleed for that man who broke it into pieces.
  • She tried to forget him so much but when his son was born with similar features to David, she couldn’t forget him for a day.
  • Now when she had to return because her grandmother is sick she was dreading to face her past.
  • But she didn’t want to miss these precious times.
  • Gloria didn’t want to regret it when in the future she won’t be able to stay with them.
  • So when that old lady called her back she agreed without hesitation.
  • Her grandparents have supported her a lot in these five years.
  • She still remembered the day when she returned to White’s house after signing the divorce papers.
  • She was so broken that she couldn’t stop her tears.
  • Her grandfather was enraged hearing what happened to her, but she stopped him saying she didn’t want to hurt her child’s father.
  • But they didn’t want to let her suffer, so they moved to Australia along with her.
  • They were here until his son was born.
  • The old lady didn’t want to leave her alone, but they had to leave as her mom was still in the coma.
  • She didn’t know would her mom would ever get well.
  • But she wanted to stay with her grandmother when she needed her.
  • “Mom, did you pack my sunglasses? I don’t want to get tanned when I go there.” Gloria heard his son’s voice which made her chuckle.
  • He was also packing the stuff that he couldn’t leave here.
  • “Daniel, you don’t need to take all this. I can buy you new things there.” Gloria said to his son who was trying his best to pack all these things inside his small luggage.
  • “No mom. I can’t keep them here.” He said and try to tuck the stuffed bear which was coming out of the luggage.
  • “But all of your toys won’t fit.” Gloria tried to persuade him and he sit in the bed with a worried face.
  • “Mom, what will I do? If I keep Mr bear here, he would feel sad. But I can’t keep Fifi too.” He said and showed her the stuffed Alpaca.
  • “then you can keep your other toys. We can get you new toys when we got there.” She says and a smile forms on his face.
  • “You are right. But they won’t get sad, right?” He ask in his cute voice and Gloria ruffled his hair.
  • “No, how could they get angry with my cute boy?” Gloria said, and that made him frown.
  • “I am not cute, mom. I am a big boy.” He said and Gloria laughed.
  • “Who said big boy can’t be cute?” She asked and he frown again.
  • “No, I am hands…” he was trying to form the word but couldn’t.
  • “Ok, my boy is handsome.” Gloria finished his word, which made him jump in excitement.
  • “Ok, now let me pack. Or we will be late.” He made a serious face and start to pack his things carefully.
  • This childishness of Daniel has always kept Gloria composed.
  • She has tried her best to keep his boy away from any problem.
  • She was worried if she would be able to keep it intact after her past will hunt her down.
  • the flight of Gloria landed at the airport and she come out with his son who was holding his luggage in his hand while Gloria was carrying hers.
  • Daniel was wearing a beautiful t-shirt with an iron man photo and to cover his face he was wearing a cap and sunglasses.
  • Daniel has always been cute, so to avoid people’s gazes he was accustomed to wearing caps.
  • But even though how this cute little boy carries himself, always attracts people to him.
  • Even today few people were looking at him and some even clicked his pictures.
  • Gloria was never the one who acted pettily, but after stepping into this town everything was making him uneasy, so she tried to adjust his cap so Daniel’s face was not visible in the photos too.
  • Though she knew she didn’t have any connection with David anymore Daniel was his carbon copy.
  • She didn’t want anyone to claim Daniel and disrupt their peaceful life.
  • When they came out, Mr. White was standing with his bodyguard and when Daniel saw him he run toward him happily.
  • Though Mr white has moved back after Daniel’s birth that old couple has often visited Australia and they were the only one Daniel know as family.
  • “How are you old man?” Mr white asked, taking Daniel in his arm and adjusting his cap.
  • But noticing his frown he couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
  • “I am not old. You are old Mr.” Daniel stuck his hand on his waist and make an angry face, which was making him look cuter.
  • “We will see when I will beat you in monopoly.” Mr. White said and Daniel humped and tried to ignore him.
  • “Ok, Mr white. We should get in the car. Miss must be feeling tired.” Mr white’s assistant reminded him and he nodded and walked toward their car.
  • When Gloria was walking toward the car, she noticed a familiar figure but when she turn around to see the figure was already gone, so she got in the car and their car drive off.
  • On the other hand, the person she saw was David Collin.
  • He was going out on a business trip and he also noticed Gloria.
  • He didn’t notice Daniel as the bodyguard was covering them, but only her presence was making him feel some unknown emotion.
  • “Wasn’t that Mrs. Collin?” Noah asked, and that made David frown.
  • “She is not Mrs. Collin. We were divorced.” David retorted instantly, but her presence was making her uncomfortable.
  • In these five years, whenever Collin has seen Jonathan at any business gathering he thought he will see Gloria there.
  • But he was never with him, and neither did Jonathan has taken any date with him that made David feel they were together.
  • But when he saw Gloria today, there was something that was making her feel abnormal.
  • Why did she return now?
  • Would she now get married to Jonathan, finally?
  • “Mr. Collin, your flight…” Noah remind him as David was still standing in the same place.
  • Hearing his word, David put on his sunglasses and walked toward the boarding area.
