Chapter 10 You Annoying Little Thing

  • Tang Xuchun knew her direct refusal had brought her greater danger.
  • However, I’m Young Master Yan’s wife.
  • He’s known to be brutally cruel. If he finds out about my affair, I’ll definitely die a horrible death.
  • Plus, I have to take Grandma into account. What if they hurt her?
  • That heartbreaking thought made Tang Xuchun’s eyes darken with fear.
  • Her heart ached thinking about her grandmother; she felt she had been torn into a million shreds.
  • “Why not?” He Yanfeng sounded frosty. Through the thin fabric of Tang Xuchun’s clothes, his warm palms were heating up her body.
  • Tang Xuchun’s body jolted as she was taken aback by the question.
  • “Because... th-there’s a man I like already,” Tang Xuchun fibbed since she had to keep her marriage a secret as instructed by the butler.
  • She hoped that He Yanfeng would back down after learning about this.
  • To her dismay, the sharp, icy look in his eyes showed otherwise.
  • It was as if a storm was brewing inside of him!
  • “You have someone you like?” His tone grew solemn, sending chills down her spine.
  • Tang Xuchun nodded as her palms started sweating profusely.
  • She was too naive to expect He Yanfeng would set her free after telling him that lie. He was clearly more unpredictable than she had anticipated.
  • Her pale, dumbfounded face lifted up as she forced herself to lock eyes with him.
  • Gazing at her fiercely, He Yanfeng glided his hands domineeringly along her body and ultimately landed on her chest.
  • He felt her heart pounding madly underneath her chest.
  • Her white teeth bit into her quivering red bottom lip. She was the very picture of vulnerability.
  • The more defenseless you look, the more I desire you!
  • “Well, I take it that your lover can’t satisfy you. Why else would you fool around with me when you already have him?” He Yanfeng mocked as his face went closer to hers. There was a subtle sarcastic smirk at the corner of his mouth.
  • He continued, “I suggest that you be my lover instead. I’ll guarantee that you’ll have a better time with me!” His pupils dilated as he suddenly exuded an even more dangerous aura.
  • A better time...
  • As if!
  • It hurt like a b*tch that last time!
  • No way in hell!
  • “No, thanks!” Tang Xuchun stood her ground. I don’t want to be his woman even though he’s really an eye-candy.
  • She continued to shake her head and pouted petulantly. Her chubby, babyish face gave her a truly youthful appearance.
  • The second refusal from her displeased He Yanfeng even more.
  • Pressing his lips together, he was burning with frustration and it showed in his dark eyes.
  • He looked as if he wanted to reduce her to ashes!
  • Tang Xuchun was like a helpless fawn under He Yanfeng’s predatory gaze.
  • “No to what? You don’t want to do it here or you don’t want me to stop?”
  • As he delivered that shameless statement brazenly, blood rushed into Tang Xuchun’s face and colored it red.
  • Breathing warm air on her already burning face, He Yanfeng knew what he was doing to her. The cedar smell on his body was somehow even more potent now.
  • If it weren’t for the bump on her forehead, Tang Xuchun felt like she really would headbutt him right now.
  • Has he no shame?
  • His words were so provocative that she felt as if her body was set on fire, never mind her face.
  • He Yanfeng gripped her waist tighter and lifted her off the ground.
  • Fixing his all-consuming gaze on her luscious lips, the original intention to hold back went right out of the window. He moved in directly for a kiss.
  • Alarm started ringing in Tang Xuchun’s mind as she bulged her eyes at him.
  • There is no way in hell that I’ll allow myself to be taken advantage of in such an open space! And in broad daylight, too!
  • As he moved forward, she put out her hands to cup his face.
  • As her soft palms touched his face, He Yanfeng’s movement came to a sudden halt.
  • He looked up to see her sweet smile. It was part innocent and part sensual. She appeared extremely docile.
  • He Yanfeng stayed still as Tang Xuchun closed their remaining distance with those alluring red lips.
  • Heh, no one can resist a lover who takes charge.
  • He Yanfeng clearly hadn’t learned his lesson. Tang Xuchun was an inconsistent character whose personality and attitude could change rapidly.
  • You sick son of a b*tch... I’ll make you regret this!
  • Tang Xuchun suddenly opened her mouth wide and went in for a huge bite.
  • Even on her tiptoes, she only managed to reach his chin.
  • Nonetheless, she aimed for his cheek and successfully bit down on it hard.
  • He Yanfeng felt a sharp pain out of the blue as Tang Xuchun’s teeth dug into his flesh savagely.
  • I would rather be fired than to be this sick man’s sex toy!
  • Distracted by the pain, He Yanfeng loosened his grip at once.
  • Having found the right moment, Tang Xuchun pushed him away forcibly and scurried aside, like a rabbit escaping from a snake.
  • She was so flustered and intent on escaping that she did not notice a fine vase sitting on the edge of the rosewood desk. As she scrambled her way out, she accidentally knocked it over. It plummeted to the floor.
  • Crash!
  • On hearing the sound of fine china shattering, Tang Xuchun broke into a cold sweat.
  • He Yanfeng, who was still holding his face in pain, turned around. The deep bite mark was evident on his cheek and there was even spit on his face.
  • This lunatic!
  • Looking on the floor at the broken pieces of what used to be a priceless vase, he exploded, “Tang Xuchun! You’re in way bigger trouble now!”
  • Tang Xuchun ran and hid behind the couch like a frightened little rabbit. Hugging herself in fear, her tear-filled eyes stared warily at He Yanfeng as she observed his reaction.
  • “I-It’s... just a v-vase. I can get you a new one. I’ve seen one like that at the market for twenty or even less,” stammered Tang Xuchun in response.
  • Twenty?
  • He Yanfeng wanted to let out a bitter laugh, but the pain on his face stopped him.
  • “That was a Qing dynasty Qianlong vase. This thing cost over a hundred million on the market, and you’re telling me you can buy it for only twenty? You ignorant peasant!”
  • Not only that, it was actually He Yanfeng’s favorite piece from his entire collection.
  • Hearing this, Tang Xuchun’s ears almost fell off.
  • It is just an ordinary vase! How could it cost millions?
  • Such a rip off!
  • Tang Xuchun immediately withdrew her hand from the couch. What if he asks me to pay millions for this as well just because I touched it?
  • “Th-th-that’s... ridiculous. It was just a simple vase! If it was really that valuable, why didn’t you lock it up? What if it gets stolen?”
  • He Yanfeng was speechless at her rebuttal.
  • He took a moment to regulate his breathing; he was so irritated that he couldn’t breathe properly nor think straight.
  • Tang Xuchun reckoned that she should flee the scene before things get worse, but this was his company. There was no way she could escape his men.
  • Furthermore, she needed to obtain her internship certification from him.
  • Ah, but I bit him and broke that expensive vase...
  • Jeez. Why am I so unlucky today?
  • “I will buy you a new vase, okay? And about that f-five million, that was too much and I never intended to give you that much, either. What I had in mind that night was about five thousand. We didn’t sign a contract and I was the employer, so you should respect my price. I can even throw in another thousand if you keep your mouth shut about it. But I’m very poor right now and I don’t have any money. I’ll only pay you when I get my salary!” Tang Xuchun wasn’t dumb, but she knew she had to act dumb at this moment.
  • Five million on top of a hundred million... That’s worth more than everything I have, including my life. No matter what, I have to try and work this out. I don’t have anything to fall back on.
  • If the Yan family learns about this, I’m dead meat. Besides, who knows what they’ll do to Grandma?
  • He Yanfeng had never seen a negotiation conducted like this. It was worse than haggling at the market! To him, this was eye-opening and infuriating at the same time. He was so flabbergasted that he was suddenly lost for words.
