Chapter 3 It Is Your Honor To Replace Me

  • Returning to the Tang family villa, Tang Xuchun felt as if she was stepping into another snare after she had just gotten out of one.
  • “Where is my grandma?” Her pale face was frosty as she shouted.
  • “You little slut. Look at the hickeys all over your neck. Who did you shag after you ran away from the doctor? Let me make this clear. You’re getting married today whether you like it or not. If you dare to cause any more trouble, I’ll make your life a living hell!” Deng Yingmei pointed at Tang Xuchun and berated her.
  • Tang Xuchun recalled being kissed on the neck last night; that probably explained the bruises.
  • In any case, Tang Xuchun had to refocus on her mission. She stared at her aunt with hatred as she asked coldly, “What did you do to my grandma? If you insist on holding onto her, I’ll call the cops!”
  • Tang Xuchun took out her phone but it was immediately slapped away by Tang Jingjing.
  • “Tsk tsk. Tang Xuchun, you’re so promiscuous! It’s truly disgusting. Eh, but who cares? After all, the Yan family only wants a daughter-in-law in name anyway. It’s not like that cripple would be able to notice that you are no longer a virgin. After all, Young Master Yan is impotent and he can’t do anything about it, either. A hoe and a cripple, what a match made in heaven!” Tang Jingjing covered her mouth and sniggered.
  • To Tang Xuchun, Tang Jingjing’s sweet smile was like a venomous sneer.
  • “The Yan family wants you, not me. Strictly speaking, it’s none of my business.”
  • “Tang Xuchun! Shut your stupid mouth or I’ll make sure you never speak again! Don’t make me drop off that old hag at the morgue. At her age, it’s normal for her to drop dead any minute anyway.” Deng Yingmei did not hold back, either.
  • Provoked beyond reason, Tang Xuchun glared at Deng Yingmei hatefully. The resentment on her face grew more intense by the second.
  • The Yan family had offered an outrageously high amount of betrothal money to marry the Tang family’s daughter, Tang Jingjing.
  • However, right after it was set in stone, the Tang family made up a story and told them that Tang Jingjing had fallen ill and it would be unlucky for the Yan family to proceed with the marriage. Thus, Tang Xuchun was tasked to marry into the Yan family on behalf of Tang Jingjing.
  • Judging by the looks of her now, Tang Jingjing isn’t ill at all.
  • Even though it was clearly a fabricated story, Tang Xuchun was forced into compliance for the sake of her grandmother who was already very old.
  • I loathe these people!
  • Tang Xuchun could feel nothing but hatred for them. She was so close to bringing them all to hell with her.
  • “Xuchun, the Yan family is an aristocratic family here. It’s a huge honor for a peasant girl like you to marry into their family.”
  • Tang Xuchun sneered at Tang Jingjing, “If so, why would you turn down such a huge honor?”
  • So what if they are aristocratic and influential? It’s common knowledge that their son has a bad reputation for being a brutal man who mistreats women around him!
  • If it is truly such an amazing thing, it doesn’t take the sharpest mind to figure out that they would never let me have the privilege to marry into that family.
  • “Great! Seems like you want to do this the hard way. Maids, seize her! Change her into the wedding dress and put her into the wedding car!”
  • At the same time, He Yanfeng received a call from Qi Hai just as he stepped out of the shower.
  • “Where are you? The wedding’s today,” Qi Hai reminded him.
  • “I’m busy!” He Yanfeng replied, irritated.
  • Before Qi Hai could hang up, He Yanfeng heard the maids screaming on the other end of the call.
  • “My God! Young Master Hedi has gone into shock again after coughing out blood!”
  • Their anxious voices came through the phone as clear as day.
  • “Call the doctor!” He Yanfeng commanded.
  • “The doctor has left to get medicine and hasn’t returned yet,” replied Qi Hai worriedly.
  • “Send him to the hospital! I’m on my way back!” He Yanfeng ordered coldly.
  • Sitting in the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Tang Xuchun contemplated her situation carefully. She knew she was now at the point of no return. In exchange for her grandmother’s safety, she had agreed to the marriage. The Tang family members then promised to help her grandmother and not hurt her.
  • Tang Xuchun’s grandmother was the only real family she had. To her, the old woman was her rock and much more. Hence, she couldn’t tolerate anyone hurting her precious grandmother, and she would do anything for her.
  • Maybe I can fight back, seeing as he’s disabled. She decided to take a gamble.
  • The car came to a smooth halt in front of a hillside villa. Tang Xuchun looked out the window and witnessed two guards lifting a wheelchair into a van. Though she couldn’t see clearly from a distance, Tang Xuchun was certain that a man was in the wheelchair.
  • Could that be Young Master Yan, my future husband?
  • The staff seemed to be flustered as if there had been an incident.
  • Sitting in the car, Tang Xuchun watched the van driving off.
  • Only three employees stayed behind.
  • Tang Xuchun sighed in relief.
  • Here’s the chance I prayed so hard for! The groom has been sent to the hospital due to some health condition... So I don’t have to deal with him, at least for today.
  • After the driver opened the door for her, Tang Xuchun stepped out in a beautiful wedding gown.
  • The white, satiny fabric flowed fluidly with her every movement. Countless crystals were sewn all over the voluminous skirt, making the entire gown sparkle in the sun. It was as magical and exquisite as a wedding gown could be.
  • Even though Tang Jingjing had deliberately given her some old and worn-out jewelry to go with the gown, Tang Xuchun’s beauty and poise could not be diminished or even contained at this very moment.
  • She entered the villa and noticed that it had been elaborately decorated for the occasion.
  • However, only the staff were present at this groom-less wedding. There was not even a single guest.
  • “Madam, this way please.” A middle-aged butler greeted Tang Xuchun, gesturing for her to go upstairs.
  • After looking at the curved stairway before her, Tang Xuchun lowered her gaze and lifted the front of her gown to ascend the stairs slowly, her long veil trailing behind her.
  • After what happened last night, her legs still felt weak like jelly. Thanks to the voluminous wedding gown, her unsteady gait along with the love bites on her neck managed to stay hidden under the multiple layers of fabric.
  • Screech!
  • Suddenly, a high-pitched sound of screeching tires rang across the compound. A black Bentley came to an abrupt stop on the driveway in front of the villa.
  • He Yanfeng parked the car. With a solemn look on his face, he brought along his phone and opened his car door.
  • Just as he was about to step out of the car, a figure in white visible at the corner of his eye caught his attention.
  • Behind his windscreen and the villa’s window stood a beautiful woman in a white wedding gown. Her profile was distinct as she stood elegantly with one hand on the railing and another holding onto her gown. Her partially silhouetted profile formed the very picture of innocence and purity.
  • He found it hard to believe that his young and inexperienced wife-to-be could be so audacious and passionate.
  • Meanwhile, Tang Xuchun froze at the sound.
  • Please don’t tell me they have suddenly turned back!
  • Tang Xuchun stopped halfway up the stairs and turned around, holding onto her skirt. A black car had parked itself along the driveway. As the door opened, a pair of shiny black shoes appeared and touched the ground.
