Chapter 48 The Chase I

• The road to the hideout was long and tiring, it seemed to Clea. Tarik marched forward a few feet ahead of her and Kali, never looking back. That had Kali giving Clea questioning glances all the way there. At one point, she whispered, 'Are you guys quarrelling?'.
• Clea frowned in reply, but she didn't know. Now that this walk was ongoing, she could only drown in the thoughts of how harshly she had told him to leave. That could've upset him. She stared at him; from his hard, broad back to the legs driving a pace which hadn't slowed since they took off. He seemed to be giving off a cold vibe but… it could be that he was wholly focused on getting there. She reminded herself that she should be too, instead of drowning in stupid worries.
• "Tarik, how far is it?" Kali asked for the umpteenth time.
