Chapter 33
- Jameson's POV
- I can’t stop pacing after the call with Bella. My mind is a whirlpool of thoughts and emotions. Hearing her voice, the frustration and hurt in her tone, it tears me apart. I wanted to give her the answers she needs, but the truth is too complicated, too tangled in layers of business and personal stakes. And knowing she’s on a vacation sponsored by Matt, it’s like salt in the wound.
- Gulping some of the whiskey in the glass I am holding, I grit my teeth in frustration. What she said about me not keeping the promise I made to her was the worst part of the punch. From the little she knows about me, she has learned that I am a man of my words.
