• *Bella's POV*
• The news hits me like a ton of bricks. Jameson is dropping the case? I stare at the text on my phone, the words blurring as tears fill my eyes. This is not the news I was expecting from Lamonthe. I want him to tell me how he had won the case against my dad, or how the case is still progressing with them having more chances of winning the case.
• The one person I thought I had, the one who promised to fight for me, has given up. What am I going to do now? The weight of the disappointment crushes me, and I can’t hold back the sobs that wrack my body.
