Chapter 13

• Axel POV
• Chloe falls asleep while I am holding her. I lean down and kiss her forehead gently and then run my fingers through her long hair. I take out my phone and order lunch for the two of us. She needs to eat when she wakes up. I should give her the rest of the day off after her brother went after her the way he did. I wanted to kill him. Cane should have never laid one finger on Chloe after everything she has been through; he knows better.
• "Axel," Chloe says, half asleep and half awake. I reach over and touch her.
