• I went to the pantry and grabbed myself a coffee. My heart was aching as if I’d been struck in the chest. I wanted to scream at him—confront him, but it’s no use. I couldn’t believe what I just heard. Adam’s ex-wife was still so close, and I swear I wasn’t going to be surprised if they meet one day again.
• “Julia, are you alright? You look pale.” Tina from the IT department stopped by. She was holding a cup as well.
