Chapter 14 Consequences

  • Ji Yanze crushed my jaw harder and harder in my silence. I gritted my teeth tight to not let any cry of pain through.
  • Finally, Ji Yanze broke the silence, "Qin Ziqi, tell me, how did you coax the head of the Qin family into taking your side?"
  • Ji Yanze was still putting more force into his hand. My jaw already went numb from the pain.
  • Eventually, he let go, but he immediately seized my waist and started tearing away my clothes!
  • I struggled in anger, "Stop..."
  • My plea seemed to have peaked his interest. He reached over and pressed a button. A black barrier rose up between the front and the back seats.
  • Soon, the back seat was sealed off entirely.
  • Ji Zeyan didn't care about my struggle or any foreplay and went straight for the main course.
  • I finally screamed out.
  • He didn't stop.
  • Because the tight space, he was kneeling over me on the seats, "Didn't you scheme this far, asking Qin Ci to change the marriage, just for this?"
  • I gasped in pain, unable to answer his question.
  • I only wish he would spare me.
  • Unfortunately, he had no intention of that. Rather, he pulled on my hair and continued cursing, "What are you pretending for? Regretting it now? Let me tell you, you can scheme against me, against Qin, but you are going to regret everything!"
  • The car went on.
  • He finally stopped when the car stopped.
  • He fixed his own clothes, and opened the door, "Put on your pants and get out."
  • I laid on the back seat and turned my head tiredly. We were at ...
  • The Civil Affairs Bureau.
  • Is he seriously trying to marry me?
  • I was scared and waved my hand in a panic, "No, no, I am not getting registered. I am going to talk to grandma."
  • I was truly scared. I was afraid that I would die by his hand. When he was loving me, there was only hatred in his eyes.
  • His hatred boiled brighter now than on the night of the wedding.
  • Nonetheless, he didn't give me any chance. He dragged me out of the car, mocking me, "What do you think the Ji family is? Why should we bend to your every beck and call?"
  • I was such a mess that I would surely be the laughingstock for everyone if I leave the car like this.
  • I begged, "Fine. I will go. Just let me fix my clothes."
  • Ji Zeyan let go of me then.
  • I fixed my clothes and my hair, and got out of the car.
  • Then followed him into the Bureau.
  • There was no one in the hallway.
  • Ji Zeyan pulled out a stack of paper onto the desk near the entrance, "Sign it."
  • His words were a command. There was no room for negotiation.
  • I tried to check what was on those papers, but he caught my hand, "Qin Ziqi, I hope you know that it is not I, who is trying to marry you, but rather YOU, who is begging me to take you in."
  • "Ji Zeyan, you should be looking into Qin Ziqin right now. She..."
  • I was trying to tell him about Qin Ziqin, but my sentence was cut short when his fist slammed into the desk.
  • The crushing sound shook my heart.
  • He warned, "Do you want those children at the orphanage to go homeless again?"
  • The orphanage.
  • That was my biggest weakness.
  • I signed my name hopelessly.
  • I knew clearly that the previous agreement about the opposite sex was going to be included in the pile of papers I just signed.
  • Still, I knew with greater clarity that his ability to shut down the orphanage was real.
  • Immediately after I signed the papers, he dragged me over to get our marriage registered.
  • After all the photo shoots and background checks, we finally sat down at window to pick up our marriage certificate.
  • The clerk asked kindly, "Are you sure you want to pick up the certificate today?"
  • "Is there any problem?" I asked back.
  • The clerk shook his head, "No. It's just today is not a good day. Look, there is not even a person here to register a divorce."
  • Doubts filled my head right away.
