Chapter 12 Let Qi Marry Him for Real

  • As hope rose in my heart, Qin Ci replied, "I am the one who called her over."
  • No one could tell her thoughts from her words.
  • I stole a glance at Qin Zhaoming. His forehead was lined with sweat.
  • After we entered the room, Qin Ci pulled me down on a double sofa. Qin Zhaoming and Fan Yu sat down opposite of us. Mrs. Chen went and brewed tea for all of us.
  • Qin Ci took my hand and went straight in, "Mrs. Qiu already told me everything about the wedding."
  • Upon hearing this, Qin Zhaoming jumped to his feet while sweat rolled down his face. His finger shot straight for Mrs. Qiu, "You traitor! Did you get bribed by Qin Ziqi?"
  • Before his accusation could fully leave his mouth, he picked up the glass on the table and threw it straight at Mrs. Qiu.
  • Hot tea dowsed Mrs Qiu instantaneous, and the glass shattered against the floor.
  • "Enough!" Qin Ci called out sternly, and then turned to Mrs. Qiu, "Mrs. Qiu, go change. Don't come out until I call you."
  • Although Qin Ci always gave off a gentle aura, but she was still the head of the Qin family. Her words held their own weight.
  • Faced with her order, Qin Zhaoming fell back into his seat right away with clenched fists, clearly still trying to explain.
  • QIn Ci turned to me, "Qi, I heard Mrs. Qiu say that you were the one with Ji Zeyan on the wedding night, right?"
  • I nodded, confused why Qin Ci would ask.
  • Qin Ci continued, "Mrs. Qiu also told me that even though the misunderstanding was explained, but Qi never moved in with Ji Zeyan."
  • Fan Yu lept up to explain, "That's because Mr. Ji that he felt bad for Qin, so he is trying to find a new spot and building a house to her liking. Then they can all move in."
  • My heart skipped a beat.
  • Ji Zeyan really held Qin Ziqin in a special place in his heart.
  • How could such a strong bond be moved by just a few words from me?
  • Just as I thought Qin Ci was here to restore justice to me, things took a different turn. She opened her mouth again, "Enough. This is all your fault. Qi already spent a night with Ji Zeyan. Girls can't marry out with a tarnished name. How about let Qi marry Zeyan for real?"
  • My mind took a full five seconds to comprehend her words.
  • Fan Yu and Qin Zhaoming were the same. When I came about, Fan Yu was on her feet, screeching, "No! This is impossible! She can't marry Ji Zeyan!"
  • I was equally shocked, "Grandma..."
  • Emotions swarmed my mind. I already lost all hope with Ji Zeyan.
  • "The Ji family would not agree to this." Qin Zhaoming has calmed down enough that logic returned to his mind.
  • His words also cleared away the fog in my mind.
  • In Yan City, the Ji family sat at the top of the pyramid. The Qin family may be big, but in comparison against the Jis' wealth and influence with corporations, it was still too small.
  • Therefore, logically speaking, as long as the Ji family doesn't agree, Qin Ci's words matter not.
  • Qin Ci shot Fan Yu a look.
  • She continued again after Fan Yu sat down, "Why do you think the Ji family want to marry the Qin family?"
  • No one could answer it. Based on Ji Zeyan's standing in the Ji family and the Qingtian Corporation, I am not even in the top hundreds candidates for a suitable bride.
  • Why the Qin family then?
  • Qin Ci told her story. Back when she was young, she and Ji Zeyan's grandfather were childhood friends. She was the heiress of a powerful family, and he was all but a poor street boy.
  • The strict social rules back then gave no chance for their marriage.
  • Many years later, when they met again in their fifties, they decided upon this marriage.
  • When Qin Ci told the story, her eyes shone warmly. All could see her bond with Ji Zeyan's grandfather.
