Zhuo Anran scratched her head and smiled sheepishly.
“Okay. You head back first,” Mu Xitong said.
“Then I’ll go now, bye!” Zhuo Anran said as she waved goodbye.
Mu Xitong watched Zhuo Anran’s retreating figure as she skipped away.
Since they had already broken up, then she should continue to live her life. She would always be happy no matter what.
After Shao Zhehao sent Xiao Yufei back, he left because he had some things to do.
Xiao Yufei’s room was designed with a princess theme in mind and it was decorated very prettily. Every detail was filled with girliness.
“Mom, you have to find a way to marry Mu Xitong off to that old man,” Xiao Yufei said coldly.
“Relax, daughter. I will definitely take away all relations that Mu Xitong has with the Xiao family,” He Yahui spat.
“Then what should we do?” Xiao Yufei asked.
“This problem still has to be settled by your father. If your dad insists on Mu Xitong marrying that old man, then she cannot say no,” He Yahui answered somberly.
“Then go and tell dad.” Xiao Yufei was very anxious.
“Looks like this is the only way.” He Yahui’s eyes glinted with malice.
Then, she leaned in and whispered something in Xiao Yufei’s ear.
The more she listened, the happier Xiao Yufei got, and her expression ended up being sinister and venomous.
“Alright Mom, I understand. I will call her right now.” Xiao Yufei said.
“Okay, and I will go look for your father,” He Yahui said.
Xiao Yufei turned to look out of the window with evil eyes.
“Mu Xitong… This time, I will run your name to the ground.” Xiao Yufei vowed viciously.
The next day, Mu Xitong came early to school, but she did not see Zhuo Anran anywhere.
Mu Xitong saw the caller ID and picked up immediately.
“Hey, Anran. Why are you not here at school?” Mu Xitong said with pursed lips.
“Sorry, Xitong. I have something going on at home, so can you help me ask for a leave from the teacher?” Zhuo Anran requested.
“I see, alright then,” Mu Xitong responded.
“Mwah! I’ll treat you to good food next time.” Zhuo Anran was grateful.
“Okay, bye!” Mu Xitong said.
Mu Xitong hung up and started walking toward the school.
“Mu Xitong.” A voice that Mu Xitong hated rang out behind her.
Mu Xitong turned around and looked at Xiao Yufei unwillingly. Pei Shanshan and Zhou Yuqing were behind her.
“What do you want?” Mu Xitong asked in a low voice.
“Mu Xitong, we have decided that today, Zhe Hao and I will be treating everyone to a gathering at Night. A lot of students will be there, seeing as we are leaving the school soon.” Xiao Yufei’s voice was gentle.
“I’m not free.” Mu Xitong immediately turned her down.
“Mu Xitong, Yu Fei is inviting you to be nice. Don’t be ungrateful,” Zhou Yuqing said.
“Exactly. Since you’re not even a loved daughter in your own home, letting you attend is just giving you face,” Pei Shanshan said spitefully.
Mu Xitong looked at them and gathered her hands into fists.
Xiao Yufei looked at Mu Xitong’s anger incited from embarrassment and felt overwhelming joy in her heart.
That was exactly the reaction she wanted—to make them think Mu Xitong was an ungrateful person.
“Pei Shanshan, Zhou Yuqing, don’t say things like that.” Xiao Yufei continued to speak tenderly.
“Yufei…” Pei Shanshan protested.
“Mu Xitong, you aren’t scared, are you? Is it because you can’t bear to see Yu Fei and Shao Zhehao together?” Zhou Yuqing mocked.
Mu Xitong looked at them with her large, glistening eyes and scoffed coldly.
Since she was about to restart her life, if she could not even do this simple thing, then it was really not like her.
“I’ll go. Of course I’ll go,” Mu Xitong said, all smiley.
Mu Xitong looked at them as she smiled. Her face resembled a white gardenia that had just blossomed. Joy was written all over her face and it shone with overflowing happiness. The corners of her mouth lifted into a pretty curve that made anyone who saw it feel a sense of protectiveness over her.
Xiao Yufei hated seeing Mu Xitong like this. She was always happy no matter what.
But as soon as she thought of what would happen tonight, only then did the envy in her heart dissolve a little.
“Since you’ve agreed, then we’ll meet at 7 p.m tonight at Night, okay?” Pei Shanshan said.
After Mu Xitong heard the location, she turned and walked toward the classroom.
She sat in her chair and started studying diligently.
Without Zhuo Anran by her side, Mu Xitong was feeling a little bored.
No one in the classroom was willing to talk to her, and Mu Xitong knew why.
The time passed quickly and before long, it was already time for the party.
Mu Xitong looked at her watch and walked out of the classroom.
She stood by the road and reached out to flag down a taxi. She got in and headed toward Night.
But what she did not realize was that there was another car following the taxi she was in.
When Mu Xitong reached Night, she saw Xiao Yufei standing at the entrance.
”Mu Xitong, I’m here to fetch you,” Xiao Yufei explained.
“Wow. Thanks for that.” Mu Xitong said flatly.
“Let’s go.” Xiao Yufei smiled.
Night was the most expensive place in Dragon City. Coming here for one night of fun would be impossible if you did not have at least five million on you.
Everyone who came here was rich if not wealthy, and those of average earnings could never enter even if they saved for their entire lives.
The two of them walked into the room that they had booked and saw Shao Zhehao, Pei Shanshan and Zhou Yuqing sitting on the grand sofa.
Apart from them, there were several other students. Mu Xitong counted about twenty or so people.
“You’re finally here, and you even asked Yu Fei to fetch you,” Zhou Yuqing said.
“Yuqing, it’s okay,” Xiao Yufei said generously.
Mu Xitong sat on the sofa and opened a bottle of juice, taking a drink from it.
“Zhehao, I wish that you and Yufei will be together forever,” Pei Shanshan flattered them.
“Yes. The two of you are so compatible.”
“Why don't you two do a love shot?” a boy suggested.
“Wow! Love shot! Love shot!”
The crowd started to cheer, leaving Mu Xitong sitting there on her own.
Mu Xitong had said that she would forget, but she still needed time regardless.
Xiao Yufei walked in front of Shao Zhehao shyly.
“Let’s have one,” Shao Zhehao said tenderly.
“Sorry, Zhehao. I’m pregnant, so I can’t drink alcohol.” Xiao Yufei looked bashful.
“W-What? Are you for real?” Shao Zhehao was excited.
“Yes.” Xiao Yufei nodded.
Shao Zhehao looked at Xiao Yufei and raised her up happily, spinning her around where they stood.
“Shao Zhehao, that’s the second piece of happy news today!” Pei Shanshan said.
“Exactly,” Zhou Yuqing agreed.
Everyone looked admiringly at Xiao Yufei, who not only came from a good family background, but also had a handsome and rich boyfriend.
“Classmates! Have fun today, I will pay for all of you!” Shao Zhehao said, laughing.
Everyone cheered at this and started singing and dancing.
Mu Xitong sat there, drinking her juice stiffly.
Once she heard that Xiao Yufei was pregnant, she nearly could not take it and almost wanted to leave.
But she could not leave. If she left now, it would mean that she still liked him. If that was the case, she didn’t know how to show her face at school from now on.
