Chapter 7: Little Dispute

  • "I said I have found my mate," Jefferson replied slowly.
  • "Hun! Your mate?" Abigail looked surprised.
  • "Yeah, my mate. Is there anything wrong with it?" Jefferson replied.
  • "No, it just sounded funny to me. You and I both know we've been cursed by the moon goddess never to find our mate," Abigail replied.
  • "Cursed!" Jefferson frowned.
  • Abigail laughed seeing Her brother's confused face. "That's not what I mean. What I mean is that all these days you've been looking for your mate, you've never met her and now you are telling me you've found your mate." She replied.
  • "Anything wrong with it?" Jefferson asked. He was wondering why his sister was behaving this way.
  • He had expected her to be happy when she heard the news that he found his mate but here she was. He didn't know if maybe she was happy or not. He couldn't read her emotions.
  • No matter how he tried he had never been able to read his sister's emotions on her face as she always kept an expressionless face.
  • "Is she a human or a supernatural being," Abigail asked slowly.
  • "A human," Jefferson shrugged his shoulders.
  • "Haaa!"
  • Abigail laughed. "You found your mate a human and you accepted her. Those weak creatures. What were you even thinking?" Abigail laughed.
  • "Sis, what are you insinuating? That I'm not supposed to accept a human as my mate?" Jefferson asked, looking surprised.
  • "Yeah, I'll tell you. Humans are never to be trusted. They are weak, greedy for wealth, and untrustworthy. They don't deserve trust," Abigail said.
  • "Sis, what are you saying? Why are you so against me mating with a human? She's my mate for heaven's sake," Jefferson replied.
  • He wouldn't have bothered to reply to his sister if she was drunk because he knew she was drunk. But now that she was able to bypass the alcohol effects and was sane he knew she meant every single word she was saying.
  • Abigail laughed after she heard her brother's reply. "Jeff, you still don't know anything about the world so be careful. By the way, you should come and meet up with this girl I had wanted you to meet up with. She's nice," Abigail said.
  • Jefferson looked at his sister confusedly. Just now she was saying she was against him mating to a human and here she was telling him to meet someone she liked. He knew most of his sister's friends were human. Most of the time he would be the one to go pick up his sister at the party when she became drunk.
  • He had always tried to stop her from drinking but to no avail, she wouldn't stop.
  • It was not that his sister was an irresponsible person or that she didn't know what she was doing, she didn't just want to be involved with anything that has to do with the pack.
  • Though she would help give Jefferson some advice and also sisterly advice anytime he needs it.
  • Jefferson couldn't help but wonder why his sister hated his mate even without seeing her.
  • "Sis, allow me to take you to your room," Jefferson said to his sister.
  • "No, I can go myself," Abigail replied and staggered through the corridor.
  • She was only able to suppress the effects of the alcohol for a short period and wasn't able to do anything else.
  • Seeing his sister's drunken state return Jefferson could not help but shake his head and pick her up carrying her in a bridal style.
  • She was the only relative he had and had been very overprotective of her since the time he was old enough to do so.
  • He always didn't mind if she was his elder sister as he would protect her in any place not caring if she was right or wrong.
  • He had once almost gone on a killing spree when he went to pick her up from a club and found two guys trying to molest her cause she was drunk.
  • He had beaten the hell out of the two guys trying to molest her and almost killed them on the spot. Luckily his sister was able to suppress the effects of the alcohol in time to stop him. If not he would have bathed the entire club in blood that night.
  • Abigail protested a little when she was carried by her younger brother. Though she loved him and had always wanted the best for him she couldn't help but be surprised and a little unhappy when she heard he found his mate and that she was a human. There was this girl she had found and was sure her brother would like her very much. But now that he found his mate it was unlikely that he wouldn't agree to her request.
  • She had thought her brother would never find his mate as the moon goddess didn't give him one like the way she was. Though she has never searched for her mate.
  • She soon fell asleep in his arms as she felt comfortable. Also, she was tired as it had been quite a long day for her too. Though she had been partying all day she felt that it was stressful.
  • Jefferson looked at his sister who had fallen asleep in his arms and sighed.
  • He knew she was going to make hell for his mate in the pack. He just hoped that she wouldn't try anything funny to hurt him.
  • But then he trusted his sister she would never try to hurt his mate in any way. Though she might make the pack a living hell for her she would try to kill his mate and he was sure of that.
  • Soon he got to his sister's room. Entering her room he placed her on the king-sized bed. The room was not far from his. Also, it was painted pink and it reeked of girl's perfume. A saint he didn't like. There was a glass in the corner by the side of the room and there was a table placed in front and there were a lot of makeup items on the table. Apart from that everything inside this room was just like his bedroom.
  • Jefferson couldn't help but twitch his nose as he placed his sister on her bed. He wondered why his sister always had to put on makeup anytime she was going out. She was a natural beauty and using makeup was something he considered a waste of time. He had always tried to talk her out of it but she was always like you wouldn't understand until you are in my place.
  • Pushing this thought to the back of his mind. He uses the quilt to cover her as he smiles before walking out of the room.
  • He could hear his sister's regulated breathing as he walked out.
  • "Time to get back to business," Jefferson muttered and disappeared.
