Chapter 8

  • "don't forget your assignments" the teacher said before packing up his huge textbooks and walking out of the class.
  • I looked around the classroom wondering if he left in annoyance or we were through with the class for today. I hadn't been paying attention to him since he got into the class but it seemed like the class was over.
  • Ariel didn't return to the class because her seat beside me was still empty, neither did Tala or Asher, perhaps they're still in the Mistress's office.
  • I also packed my books to leave the class and walked down the hallway in an attempt to reach my room and sulk the rest of my day on the bed.
  • "Ouch, can't you watch where you're going...." My voiced trailed halfway as I lifted my head up to see who had bumped into me.
  • "I'm sorry" he apologized while I stood still like a statue.
  • I didn't know what to say to him because anytime we got this close or anytime he's close enough to me, my wolf really stops thinking about anything else but focuses on just him.
  • Right now, she's happy he said those words to me but she's also sad because she really wants to submit to him and let her mark him but he had rejected us.
  • "I..it's fine" I stuttered before bending to pick up my books that were on the floor.
  • "I'll help you with that" Asher said and suddenly bent to the floor to gather my books for me before my hands could even touch them.
  • I found myself wondering why he was being caring and nice to me all of a sudden after rejecting and insulting me for being a weak wolf.
  • "I'm not weak enough to not pick my textbooks" I managed to say after summoning the last courage in me for the day.
  • I was glad I said something like that to him because I wanted to show him I'm not that naive girl in his head but the moment I collected my books from him and walked out on him, I felt completely sad as different thoughts enveloped me.
  • "What if he doesn't talk to us anymore?" My wolf asked in a sad voice and I sighed.
  • "I didn't mean to walk out, I was only trying to act tough and strong" I whispered back to her.
  • I silently prayed inside of me that he would come back to talk to me, I wouldn't waste any time but to reply to him instantly. Perhaps he realized his mistakes and wants me back.
  • I arrived at the front of Ariel's room and found myself wondering why I had chosen to go to Ariel's room and not mine, my legs kind of led me here without my permission.
  • "Ari...." I was going to call her name but I didn't know if I wanted to talk to her at the moment so I turned my back to leave.
  • "Why are you here?" Her voice rang in front of me the moment I turned around and I realized she wasn't even in her room.
  • "I was about to leave" I replied and walked past her, I didn't want us to get into any fights but why can't she just apologise for acting that way earlier on.
  • The more I took a step, I kept on wishing she would call me back but she didn't and I was now really far from her room.
  • "Lenora!" A voice called me and I had smiled at first before realizing it was a male voice so it definitely didn't come from Ariel.
  • I felt a little hope in me when I realized it was from Asher and that he was here to talk to me again.
  • "Look, we need to talk" he said with sincerity in his eyes. I was trying so hard to find the lie or deceit in his eyes or perhaps this was a new way of bullying me but there was nothing in his eyes, nothing but honesty.
  • "I'm listening" my hoarse voice said and I suddenly felt embarrassed with the way the voice came out so I immediately coughed it out with style.
  • "We can't talk here" he gestured at the hallway and at the amount of people passing by.
  • "Please follow me to the cafeteria, they serve coffee and tea there" he added and my eyes opened in awe.
  • Why was he being so nice to me all of a sudden, was there a hidden motive or he was genuinely wanting to make things right between us.
  • I nodded my head in approval as a smile crept on his face, I almost found myself smiling back but I had to control myself to not be a total freak. I mean who laughs with her mate who rejected her.
  • He held my hands and I suddenly felt those butterflies dancing in my stomach as he led me to the cafeteria.
  • On getting there, I found a perfect spot and sat down while he went to bring the coffee.
  • "So why am I here?" I asked with hope in my eyes even though my voice was unusually quiet.
  • "Because I need to apologise to you Lenora" he said and suddenly bowed his head. I was in awe and was shocked with his sudden change of character and tried to make him raise his head back up because I wasn't comfortable with it.
  • I have never seen him bow to anyone, he had only bowed to the Alpha once after the Alpha had made him bare his neck in submission.
  • "It's fine Asher, it's not your fault that I am weak" I said but he cupped his hands around my hands which were on the table.
  • "You're not weak Lenora and I'm a fool for saying that to you, I apologise to you for all of those words I said the other day because I didn't mean them,I don't still mean them",
  • "You're my girlfriend and you still will be, well that's only if you've forgiven me. I know it's probably hard for you to trust me again but I really didn't mean those words" he said and I found myself wondering if I was actually talking to Asher or perhaps someone had cloned themselves into him.
  • Both my wolf and I were happy with the fact that he was back for us and so I sincerely would try everything in my power to keep him this time and show everyone in this pack that I'm not that weak girl.
  • "Will you forgive me please?" He pleaded and I found my heart jumping in my head. Of course I would forgive him but as I was about to pour out my happiness to him a reality struck.
  • "But you went to my sister out of all the people , Asher" I sighed.
  • "Because she tricked me into believing she was better for me, I'm sorry for falling for her tricks and I promise it'll never repeat itself again" he apologized and I suddenly found my heart warming up.
  • " So will you forgive me?" He asked while I stared straight at him in the eyes before smashing my lips to his and kissing him deeply.
  • I wanted this kiss to last because I wanted to pour out my sorrow in the kiss. All I have ever wanted from him after the rejection was a sincere apology because I know he really does love me and can't just throw it out that way and suddenly it all feels like I am in some kind of dream because my head feels so light at the moment.
  • "I've forgiven you" I said with a smile the moment I pulled away from the kiss.
  • *****
  • With happiness in me, I jogged down the hallway in an attempt to go to my room. I didn't want the memory to leave my head, I wanted to keep on thinking about how he had kissed me and the sweet feeling of his lips on me.
  • "I can't wait to tell Ariel about this" I said to myself in enthusiasm but then realized that we weren't really on good terms and I doubt she would be happy for me because of her hatred for her brother.
  • I opened my room door to see a huge figure sitting on my bed again. I felt uncomfortable with the burning glares I was getting from him as his eyes weren't of the same color as it used to but we're now dark gloomy gold.
  • I was scared that I might have offended him and my body shook because I've heard quite a little about people of his type, whenever their eyes changed their colour then they were super angry and wouldn't spare anything in their path. But it could also mean he was trying to be intimidating.
  • "Where have you been!" His cold voice suddenly rang through clenched teeth.
  • "Somewhere" I whispered but he stood up from the bed to walk up to me immediately and my body trembled and shook. I could feel my legs getting weaker because it was hard for me to stand.
  • "Answer me Lenora!" He growled beside my ear and I swallowed the heavy lump of saliva down my throat.
  • "I was at the cafeteria" I honestly replied and he took his time to study me trying to figure out whether or not I was telling the truth.
  • "With who!" He asked again and I was feeling really intimidated with the way his tone kept on getting intense. I was trying to contain my breath so I don't breathe too loud to offend him.
  • "With Asher" I honestly replied because I didn't feel the need to lie.
  • "I can smell him all over you, it's a smell I hate and I don't like it but it's so strong around you that I can't help but sniff the disgusting smell" he growled in an irritated face while I kept quiet in order not to offend him.
  • "What did he do to you?" He asked again and I was getting pissed at the fact that he was asking about my personal issues instead of focusing on himself.
  • "He didn't do anything to me" I honestly answered.
  • "Don't lie to me!" He roared as he hit his hands on the wall behind me and I shut my eyes as my wolf whimpered in fear. He could kill me easily at any point now but I don't think I'm ready to die yet, not when I finally have the chance to be with my mate.
  • "I kissed him!" I replied but felt annoyed he was asking me about these things, he really had no right to interfere with my personal affairs.
  • His golden eyes suddenly glowed brighter and his iris narrowed at me, the next thing I could feel was his hands on my shoulders as his grip on them was really tight.
  • "Ouch!" I flinched in pain as I could feel his fingers digging into the skin there.
  • On noticing the discomfort on my face, he removed his hands from my shoulders and turned his back to me.
  • "Why did you kiss him, Lenora!" He questioned.
  • "Because I love him!" I answered but before I could process anything he walked past me and slammed the door really hard that it broke from its hinges and I was left alone in the room in confusion.
  • It seemed other wolves knew he was angry because the house was dead silent but after he left the room, I couldn't feel his presence anywhere nearer to me and I guess he must have left the building.
  • I went towards the door to try to fix it back and was glad when I finally did it but as I moved the door it suddenly broke from its hinges again and I sighed.
  • I was about to give up on the door when I suddenly saw Ariel walking towards me with a look of concern and relief on her face at the same time.
