• Christian watched Jessie closely. He could tell that something was bothering her, but she just won't say, and her not being a part of his pack made it hard for him to search into her already distant mind.
• She provided no answer to him, leaving him to wonder if anyone had said something to her, because at the beginning she was all smiles.
• Now that Jessie was in the washroom, Christian again tried to see if he could read her mind, but again, it was as if there was a thin blanket over her mind that wouldn't allow him to penetrate.
