• Alicia was taken aback, surprised by the lack of anger in Tobias' voice despite her infidelity. "Why aren't you angry? I betrayed you," she said, searching his face for a sign of fury.
• "I don't see it as a betrayal. You meeting your mate doesn't hurt me," Tobias replied calmly, easing her worries.
• Alicia looked dumbfounded, her mouth slightly agape. Tobias continued, "Since I married you, I've been aware that I can't offer you happiness, and it pained me. Now that you've found someone who makes you happy, I'm overjoyed for you."
