Chapter 243 Forgotten

  • Paxton Lev felt like he had been stuck in a dream for days. The scenes in his dreams were vivid and repeated themselves over and over, but he could not recall them the moment he woke up. Golden rays of sunshine slipped through the window-blinds, making it difficult for him to open his eyes fully. It took him more than a few minutes to get accustomed to the light and take in the unfamiliar surroundings. He was lying on what looked like a hospital bed in a room plainly decorated in mostly sterile white. There was an IV drip attached to his right arm, and a few metal wires attached to his chest and connected to an ECG machine by his bedside.
  • Paxton tried to sit upright in his bed and tugged at the wires forcefully, detaching them from his chest. The machine began beeping violently, issuing a warning. What happened to him? Paxton wondered. How did he end up in the hospital? More importantly, he felt like he was missing a vital piece of information that left a part of him empty and hollow, but there was no way of telling what he could not recall.
  • The warning from the ECG machine had alerted the doctors and nurses at the front desk. In a mere few seconds, a bunch of them came rushing over to Paxton’s room. Yuliana Smith trailed behind the medical team. The moment Yuliana entered the VIP ward and saw that her son was awake, she rushed to his bedside and grabbed his hand.
