Chapter 43 Reminiscing About The Past

• Ruth glared at him for saying such to her friend before entering the car, she held Dera's hand and placed her head on her shoulder while Dera held her cheek. They got to the restaurant where Robert had booked a table for them, they were directed to a private room, away from prying eyes.
• A waitress came with the menu and they ordered, while waiting for their meal, Dera and Ruth began to chit-chat. "After Mom and I left for Italy, things were going just fine. Life was okay but it didn't last for long, after I graduate from the university, my mom passed away. She had cancer and hid it from me, I only found out when the cancer had spread out and there was nothing to do about it." She paused to blink back the tears that were threatening to fall down her cheeks while Ruth on the other hand was already tearing up.
• Dera cleaned her cheeks with a sleeve of her ash sweatshirt, "I didn't know what to do, I thought of coming back home but decided against it. After mourning the death of my mom I got a job as a secretary in a gaming company, my job was okay but again as you know, things didn't stay good for too long. My boss tried to rape me and when I threaten to report him, he told me to go ahead and I'll see who will go to jail between the both of us."
