Chapter 4
- Mirabel's POV
- *Gabriel Caleb's Chamber *
- Gabriel Caleb sat on the rosewood chair in his room. In his hand is an amulet. Something that reminds him of his past wife.
- The door of his chamber was pushed open, and Imogen, my best friend, and foster sister sauntered in, looking stressed out.
- "Father, you called," she said, bowing her head.
- "Yes," Gabriel Caleb replied as he stood up from the rocking chair.
- "Mirabel is in a dangerous situation," Father began.
- "You are right, father. Things are getting more difficult than predicted. I could feel danger lurking around me each time I stepped out of the Pack mansion.
- If the senior officials in the Pack did what I think they did, Mirabel cannot remain here in MoonFall Pack," Imogen mumbled.
- "Hmm," Father agreed silently, not saying a word.
- "I'll send her to the human world tonight. I can't let my daughter be bound by a curse. She's done nothing wrong to the Alpha," Father said, and Imogen's eyes widened in shock.
- "But father, we can send her away from MoonFall Pack, but not from our world... Sending her to the human world will cost her..."
- "Her memories... I know," Father said, cutting her off.
- "Her memories are filled with pain. I do not want my daughter to become the shadow of who she is," he snorted.
- "But she will forget you, Father," Imogen muttered.
- Gabriel Caleb paused, his facial expression contorting.
- "If that's what I'll pay in return for my daughter's happiness, I'm ready to pay for it," Father said with clear determination.
- I leaned against the portico of his room as I peered through the slightly opened door. My shoulder quivering from helplessness.
- I can't do anything, and the father is pushed to a dead end. He wants to send me into the human world.
- He is willing to sacrifice so much for my safety, and I can't let him down. I'll make sure to return for vengeance. I'll make sure they all pay for separating me from my only family.
- *****
- I laid on the bed as my thoughts trailed, thinking about what transpired between Alpha Kameel and me after the marking rituals.
- He had asked me out to his chamber, and I had willingly agreed. If only I knew that was going to cost me my joy, family, life, and happiness.

- * BACKTRACK TO A WEEK AGO*
- "One more step, and we are there," Alpha Kameel whispered, and I blushed hard as I took a step forward while holding the hem of my gown.
- "Can you please let go of my eyes?" I pleaded nervously. I wasn't used to the darkness, and I was kind of anxious about what was going to happen next.
- I knew this day was bound to come, but then again, I couldn't help being uneasy at the same time, I anticipated what was going to happen.
- "Well... I'll be letting go of those pretty eyes to see the surprise that awaits after a short-term darkness."
- Alpha Kameel muttered, his hot breath fanning my neck skin, and I couldn't help but shiver as I gulped.
- He let out a laugh as he immediately let go of my eyes, and behold, it was the room that had been prepared for the night.
- The bed was clothed with a white quilt, and it had red and pink rose petals spread all over it. The middle area of the bed had full petals of perfumed roses made in heart shapes.
- Green petals were also added, giving it a touch of nature. On the windows, counters, and tables were open flower candles that had been lit.
- I noticed the floor was covered in white and green lily petals, and bunches of daisies and ranunculus flowers were placed in vases at different corners of the room.
- The most fascinating part was the light background music in the room.
- A table with two wine glasses and a tray of two whole-fried chickens with red-lit candles were placed on the center table, and two chairs were on each side of the table.
- I felt my eyes tear up as I looked up at my mate that I'll be getting married to and didn't regret saying "I do" on the ritual altar.
- "May I have the honor of dining with my wife-to-be?" He asked in a low, yet seductive, and irresistible tone.
- I could have sworn I saw something through his eyes: lust.
- 'Was he lusting over me when the night is still so young?' I thought and grinned before gently nodding.
- Alpha Kameel led me to the table; he pulled out a chair for me like a gentleman would and then took his seat opposite mine.
- He picked up the bottle of wine. He uncapped it and poured a bit of content into his and mine wine as well.
- "Cheers to our first night together," he mumbled, raising his glass, and waiting to make toast, but I shyly looked away with a flustered face.
- "Cheers to our newly mated life!" I finally reciprocated, clinking my glass with his, and we both downed the wine and dropped the empty glasses at the same time.
- Alpha Kameel chuckled, and I giggled. "The night is still young, don't you agree?" I suddenly heard his voice beside me, And I Jolted away in shock.
