• My mind was full of many questions about Gabriel's behavior today. I felt strange and confused at the same time because he had been so resentful of my presence. Knowing he was sending out mating signals, of course, surprised me.
• I gathered my strength and got out of there as fast as I could. My stomach ached, and something wanted to come out of my mouth. I stopped by a small stream and vomited up the food I had eaten this morning. My throat was very sore and felt like something painful had strangled it.
