• I stormed out of Damien's office, my anger surging through me like an uncontrollable wildfire. My husband’s resolute words echoed in my mind: “My decision is final.” No matter how much I had pleaded, begged, or reasoned, Damien refused to back down. Luke was to be executed at dawn, and there was nothing I could say that would change his mind.
• I don’t know why he is so headstrong in believing Luke is a bad person. We are still talking about the error in arresting him and he is talking about executing him. What is wrong with this man? He is not even thinking of the consequences of his action on his family, the pack and our relationship with the Crewwood pack. Just arresting him alone has created bad blood between the two packs.
