- The dungeon was a cold, damp chamber beneath the packhouse, lit by a single flickering lantern. I stood outside the cell, my arms crossed, glaring at the rogue who had shifted back into his human form. The man was wiry, with scars running across his face and arms. He sat slumped against the wall, his breathing ragged but his eyes defiant.
- I signaled for the guard to open the cell and I went in with Rowan standing just outside. I glared at the man who was looking at me without any fear in his eyes.
