• Five days after Oswell was listed, Lauren gave me a call. She said curtly, "It's my birthday today, and I'm holding a party in the club this afternoon. Come if you can. I don't care even if you can't." She hung up.
• I held the phone dumbly for a moment. Honestly, I should not meet up with her, especially when it was her birthday party. Nylah was still angry at me because of what I did, but I only managed to get out of this mess because Lauren found out that Rowan Enterprise was friends with Voyager. It would be unbecoming of me if I did not attend her party, not to mention that she was my senior. I frowned and looked at Nylah, who was still working. I pursed my lips. "Nylah, Lauren is holding a birthday party. Wanna go?" I had to take her along to avoid any misunderstanding.
