Chapter 107 Burying the Hatchet

  • When Damon heard what I said, I noticed tears welling up in his eyes. At the same time, Dylan clenched his bloodied fists and kowtowed before us. Then, he looked up in despair and stood up. "I'm a man of my word, so I'll admit defeat since I've lost. Now that my son is gone, I don't care if my reputation gets undermined. If Damon wants me to kneel, I'll do as he wishes." Dylan then turned his attention toward Damon and was about to kneel.
  • However, Damon got a hold of Dylan, preventing him from sinking to his knees. This reminded me of a familiar scene; back then, I tried venting out my pent-up anger on my brother by making him do the same thing to my parents, but in the end, I couldn't bring myself to do that and only managed to make him kneel before me.
  • At that moment, Damon did exactly what I did, which indicated that both of us had a kind heart, as well as love and respect for our kinship. However, unlike me, Damon couldn't fight back his tears as they rolled down his cheeks.
