Chapter 100 Fabricated Memories

• “I couldn't!” I lied through my teeth. “Drake asked the guards to watch me. I couldn't even escape if I wanted.” Of course, I would have. The guards wouldn't have seen me. Drake wouldn't have known of my disappearance until he got to the carriage. I didn't tell her that, though. Instead, I lied, just to keep her from suspecting me.
