Chapter 8 Relying On Others

  • Marius's face paled with anger, ready to retort, but he felt the man before him seemed strangely familiar.
  • Not certain who he was, he chose not to speak further.
  • Drawen didn't look at him again. He turned and walked toward the luxury car parked by the roadside.
  • Only after watching the car drive off did Marius realize the man had just defended Estelle.
  • He sneered and muttered to himself, "I didn't expect Estelle to be gone for such a short time and already have another man stepping in for her. I thought she was so pure!"
  • When Drawen's car reached the next intersection, it suddenly screeched to a stop.
  • Drawen frowned. “What’s going on?”
  • The driver hesitated, looking at the person in front of the car. "Drawen, someone is stopping the car."
  • Hearing that, Drawen turned his head to look.
  • When he saw who it was, he immediately got out. “Estelle? Why are you stopping the car?"
  • I opened my mouth, ready to thank him for helping me with Marius.
  • But before I could speak, Drawen said first, “Don't worry, I've already warned him. That kind of person, it's better for you to stay away.”
  • I blinked in surprise, then asked in confusion, “How do you even know about us…”
  • It had been years since I last saw Drawen. How could he know that I had left Marius?
  • His eyes flickered briefly before he replied evenly, “Don’t overthink it. I’m just observant. If there wasn’t bad blood between you two, you wouldn’t have been arguing like that.”
  • The driver in the driver's seat stuck his head out of the window, listening to Drawen's words. He thought to himself: Clearly, it was information gathered in secret, but now it's become sensitive intuition.
  • I didn’t question Drawen’s answer. After thanking him, I left.
  • At the job fair.
  • Wearing a neat professional suit, I moved through the crowd, searching for opportunities to help the company grow.
  • In the blink of an eye, a familiar figure appeared in my line of sight.
  • In the distance, Drawen was surrounded by a group of people, standing in the middle, and everyone was handing him their business cards, his assistant smiling as she collected them one by one.
  • As I hesitated on whether to approach him, I overheard whispers nearby.
  • "That's the young prince of Noble, managing such a big company at such a young age, truly amazing."
  • “Don’t be fooled by his youth. His family’s business skills are unmatched in the industry.”
  • "Yes, the prince's methods are truly unmatched!"
  • I froze in my tracks, eyes widening in disbelief.
  • The prince of Noble? Drawen?
  • At the same time, Marius spotted Drawen and learned his identity from a nearby boss.
  • Marius exclaimed in shock. “He… he’s from Noble?!”
  • The boss nodded. “Yes, that's the prince of Noble. I’d better go speak with him.”
  • Thinking about how Drawen had helped me before, Marius’s eyes darkened with jealousy.
  • When Estelle's parents were alive, she could have anything she wanted easily. Now, with a man like him backing her up, I really underestimated her!
  • He gritted his teeth. “A woman who just got out of prison, and she can get the prince of Noble to stand up for her? Shameless.”
  • Feeling a sharp gaze on him, Drawen turned and spotted Marius.
  • Lowering his eyes for a moment, he let a faint smile curl his lips, then casually led the group toward Marius.
  • When he reached Marius, Drawen pretended to be surprised and said, "Isn't this Mr. Marius? You're also here for the job fair."
  • Marius frowned in suspicion.
  • Seeing this, someone nearby asked curiously, “Mr. Drawen, you know Mr. Marius?”
  • Drawen raised an eyebrow. “Not really. I’ve just heard people say that Mr. Marius from Creations got to where he is today by relying on others, so I know a bit.”
  • The crowd reacted with surprise, exchanging knowing glances.
  • Although no one said anything, the exchange of glances between them made their doubts about Marius clear.
  • Marius’s face went pale. He clenched his fists, glaring at Drawen. “Stop slandering me!”
  • Drawen gave a cool smirk. “Slandering? Mr. Marius, you should know what you’ve done.”
  • “If you don’t have the skill, it’s better not to embarrass yourself in public or let people start saying you’re worse than a woman.”
  • If it weren’t for Estelle, he would have exposed Marius completely.
  • Struggling to contain his anger, Marius was provoked by the murmurs around him and moved to hit Drawen.
  • The people around were stunned, unable to believe what they were seeing.
  • Drawen instinctively raised his hand to block, but seeing someone running toward them from the corner of his eye, he held back.
