  • My eyes were trained straight on the deliciously plated steak that was placed before as I waited for the rest of the three-tier meal to get set onto the grand foyer. I did not dare risk gazing at Lillie’s direction as I was afraid that she was going to see through me. She was going to see the secrets that I was trying so hard to hide from her. I sat across her father with her sitting beside him, and colins’ to my right.
  • My body was still in the midst of recovering from what we did earlier, the thought of Lillie almost catching us left a dire thought inside my body. I was still shaken up, and the thick tension in the room did not help either.
  • "Excuse me", Lillie's voice helped slice the thick tension in the room as she got everyone to stop caging themselves in their own little world and redirect their attention to her. I meekly lifted my gaze, before stealing a glance towards Hayden, who was watching me like a hawk, not an ounce of discreteness to him. My face flushed with embarrassment, my body stiffening when he winked at me. As quickly as I had glanced at him, I drifted my attention towards Lillie, whose blue orbs were already on mine. ‘Oh, my good Lord! Did she see? Had she caught Hayden winking at me, or worse! Had she heard the fruits of our deeds in the bathroom when she had come to see if I was well? My body became hypothermic at that thought. I just hoped that the chillness of my body did not translate towards my facial expressions. I did not want her to hate me. She gave me a small smile before taking a small glance towards her father and her eyes, finally settling towards Collins. Again, the unwaning longing hid well with her eyes. Grabbing one of the champagne glasses that was on the table, she gave the audience a Hollywood classic smile, turning towards everyone before lamenting,
