Chapter 25

  • Slamming the door shut, I screamed in fury at no one whatsoever, the tears that I was desperately trying to hold back earlier, fell out on their own accord. Pained sobs escaped my mouth as I scrunched down, covering my face with my hands hoping that the subtle action would hide my weak self from the unseen demons residing in the house.
  • “Looks like you have no problem slutting yourself out to other men except me” That chilling, forbidden voice that I knew all too well spoke, cutting off my pityful sobs, jerking my face out of the cage that I had created, forcing me to follow the direction the voice had come from.
  • The man whom I thought I would never have to come across again, sat their cockily at the leather couches, his dark suit coat, rolled to his elbows, his leaning stature with his knees wide apart and his large wholesome arms clumped, like as if he was about to close a multi million dollar business, one he knew all too well was his for the taking. His dark eyes that I once thought were grey, sharply trained on me, his mouth twisted into a mocking ‘smirk’. My heart was beating so fast, my breathes coming out sharply and spaced. How did he get inside the house? I was pretty sure I had locked it when I left in the morning. My eyes raked the entire living room setting, to see if there was anything of importance, that I could use to defend myself from this man, I do not know why but clearly the weather was no longer sunny in this room. Something darker was lingering around this man and I could not figure out why. I feared the darkness around him, but not him. However, the better part of my mind was pushing me to be prepared, against anything, him. But just like the day had proven, the universe was clearly not by my side today.
