Chapter 27

  • The rosy and warm morning hue blessed my skin as I had decided to sleep with the windows and curtains wide open. The cold chilli morning breeze pushing me further and further into the depths of my comforter. My body was too exhausted too, from cleaning the apartment all day. I had to leave it clean, before packing. My subconsciousness wouldn’t let me otherwise. Oh! Packing.
  • I had so many activities that I had planned for today. Most of them were last minute such as changing my flight date for back home. I was supposed to live today, but there was so much that I still had to do first and so it had to be this way. Thank God I did not have to think about my flight ticket as my scholarship sponsors had done that for me, even though it was still kind of sad. My funds were dwindling, and I had no job to sustain my life here. Thinking of getting another one ate my brain away as I remembered the hustle, and time I had to put in order to get the one at the restaurant which paid peanuts only for me to get fired in the long run for one small mistake that I had not meant to do.
  • Hayden was right, I had nothing to my name here. I even had to rely on my best friend for a house. Maybe they were right, I should have listened to my mum too. Coming here was a bad idea, as I have gone through misfortune after misfortune. I had decided to give up and just go back home, I was tired! My heart was tired.
