• I hung the bag of snacks on the gate and found a bush to hide behind. Five minutes later, Ella came out, looking left and right. It hurts me to see this level of caution, but I’m happy she didn’t reject the snacks.
• Before Ella went inside, her fiancé came back. They conversed and smiled for the longest five minutes of my life before heading inside. She used to smile at me so sweetly, but now she is doing that for another man. Just the perfect amount of salt on the wound. I’m in pain but it felt well deserved.
