CHAPTER 2 Clash of Axe

  • The revival of nature in the spring after the death of winter. It is the time of influx of seven unicorns which is organized by the magnanimous Sun God. The Twitter of birds spread all over the world. The little fairies started their routine work of monitoring the budding blossoms, fruit-bearing trees, colouring rainbow, and...
  • The channel on the television changed suddenly.
  • The witch was spotted in the modern world and the wicked witch was hanged to death publicly in broad daylight for attempting to abduct a 3 years old girl child... said to be they were about to sacrifice in the pyre of their secret coven.
  • The channel changed again.
  • Stay tuned to watch the triangle love story between a werewolf, vampire, and a human girl.
  • The channel changed again.
  • "Axe, can you switch to the previous channel", a feeble voice from a distance gained the attention of Akshara, who was switching the channel continuously to kill the time.
  • "It's about the nonsense love story of the wolf, bat, and stupid girl. Why do you want to watch the idiotic thing, Nic" she replied.
  • "I'm talking about the news channel… About a WITCH....” A voice from a distance with silver-long hair, wrinkles in skins all over the body in a black gown in short steps came to closure and gave an ordering look to switch the channel.
  • Akshara handed over the remote controller furiously and yelled, "Nic, you are getting old. You are old Nanny. As your age grows, you are losing your brain. Why do you believe that freaky news about witches and wizards? They are fake artists. They exist only in the fantasy world, not in our world”
  • "Axe...!"
  • "No Nic, don't ever try to comfort me...I won’t" – Akshara turned her face in the other direction.
  • "Axe, Move. I am watching" those words increased the anger which bubbled in the blood of Akshara.
  • Akshara without a second thought rushed to the backyard of their palace and sat in the corner of the wooden craved bench located under a big branched tree.
  • The backyard was beautifully decorated with multiple flowering plants layered the border of the way to the big branched tree. The fruits in the big branched tree merely looked like apples. The apple-like fruits gained the attraction of many birds.
  • Whenever Akshara felt sad or isolated loneliness, she came to this place and spent some time watching the chirping of birds in the tree. Those chirping seem to be a lullaby to her; even she slept there often under the tree.
  • Later she will be found and taken to her room. The little birds played a major role in her childhood who accompanied her and filled her entire childhood by making her happy always even in her sad times too. Akshara named them, Sun and Shine. Indeed, those birds are Sunshine to her.
  • Akshara waited for her Godmother to come and comfort her. But to her dismay, nothing happened. Instead, the godmother was stay tuned in front of the big boxy television and eagerly watching the news about the freaky witch.
  • A strong windblown from nowhere to ease her mood of tension and made the dried leaves and flowers which were waiting for the wind’s arrival to make them fall from the tree towards the direction of Akshara. The grapy-eyes of Akshara were fixed at the path which bridged the home and the backyard, keenly waiting for the old woman to comfort her.
  • Nothing moved except the dried leaves and flowers which too were done by the wind of unknown origin. Suddenly she was distracted by the dried leaves and flowers.
  • Akshara collected some flowers and leaves thrown in the direction of the tree, saying “How dare you to throw such things at me, huh...?” The windblown again, leaves and flowers fall at Akshara. Sun and Shine chirped in joy after watching the innocence of Akshara in her anger mode.
  • "I know, Sun Shine. It's your work. Do you think I'll let you both that simply for laughing at me, huh...?” saying those words Akshara started climbing the tree, reached the highest branch, and settled there. Sun and Shine rested on both sides, and three admired the beauty of nature and sunset.
  • Akshara could saw a distant mountain top covered by a thick icy blanket that appeared like Crystal Mountain. As it appears crystal, it acted as the spectrum and it reflects the sunlight in the form of Aurora borealis in different shapes.
  • Akshara could witness that peculiar Auroral-rainbow every night and always wanted to look that in the least distance. Of course, she knew she was prohibited in her living daylight. Akshara knew the limitations of her freedom and she never had an idea of miss using it. She was informed to return before sunset for some reason.
  • To her surprise, after the news gets over, her godmother broke the television with the hard metal of flower vase which was placed by the side table of the sofa and threw the remote controller away, never had a thought of Akshara, went to her room and locked the door with a loud bang sound, which was situated in the first floor from the hall.
  • The door was shut not only the wooden door of the room but the door inside oneself too. The remote controller broke the French window and finally settled under the feet of Akshara.
  • The deeds of the old lady paved the way for many arousals of unanswered questions and Akshara was puzzled by the weird behaviour of her godmother. Soon a lady in her mid-40s appeared with scared eyes and approached Akshara who was shocked by the behaviour of the old lady.
  • “Deny, W-what hap-happened to Nic? W-why is she do-doing…?” before Akshara could complete her words, the lady caressed her and said, “Don’t worry. Don’t think too much. Relax. Let me accompany you to your room.”
  • “But, Deny… Nic is so…”
  • The lady named Deny consoled her, “Shush… come.”
  • Deniza, the maiden of the palace of Mrs Blackfire and caretaker of Akshara accompanied her to her room. They were about to reach the stairs and halted in the living room hallway to see the broken television. A man of his late 40s have arrived with a bag full of vegetables and he was followed by a girl of the same age as Akshara with a bag full of fruits.
  • The man asked his wife, “Deny, What happened? Why is Axe baffled?”
  • The girl behind the man informed, “Look, dad, the television… Axe did you behind this? Awww… how will I watch the romantic movies?”
  • Deny replied, “Azile, quiet. Axe is not to be blamed.”
  • The man asked, “Then who is to be blamed, Deny…?”
  • Deny and Akshara both looked in the direction of the room of the old lady. Everyone understood the gesture and could relate to what exactly would have happened.
  • The man eyed his wife to take Akshara to her room and asked his daughter Azile to accompany them.
