Chapter 16

• Hayden rushed towards me and caught up with me in the car; he looked at me, but didn't say anything, and I thanked him from the bottom of my heart for that. I didn't want to talk about the issue; I didn't want to think about it. We both got into the car, and Hayden started driving right away. I leaned back in the seat and closed my eyes for a moment, needing to process what had just happened.
• "Are you okay?" Hayden asked me.
• I opened my eyes and looked out the car window as he continued driving; I didn't want to look at him, I felt too vulnerable and knew I would cry if I did.
