Chapter 29
- Roxanne’s POV
- The first thing I registered when consciousness clawed its way back into my brain was the crushing, suffocating darkness. My head throbbed with a blinding, relentless pain, and every muscle in my body ached as if I had been beaten. When I tried to move my arms and legs, a sharp, metallic clinking echoed through the space. I snapped fully awake, panic surging like wildfire through my veins. I was sitting upright on a hard, rusted metal chair, trapped in a cold, windowless room that smelled of damp concrete, rust, and old blood. Heavy iron chains were wrapped tightly around my wrists and ankles, biting deep into my skin and pinning me firmly to the chair.
- "You're finally awake."
