Chapter 41 Carino's Fear
- Hours later, we finally arrived home. The long ride had been painfully silent, with Mrs. Rodriguez occasionally glancing at me as if she wanted to say something but decided against it. Theo, on the other hand, had been relaxed the entire way, his fingers tapping against his phone screen, completely unbothered.
- As soon as the car pulled up to the mansion, Mrs. Rodriguez turned to me with a small, reassuring smile. “Get some rest, Sofia,” she said softly. “You’ve had a long day.”
- I nodded weakly, my voice caught in my throat. I wanted to believe her words, that I could simply go inside and rest. But I knew better.
