• “Why don't you tell him that?” She asked, and I scoffed. “Don't be ridiculous,” I told her with a scoff, and she rolled her eyes at me. “Come on, this is your chance for happiness,” she said, and I scoffed and rolled my eyes at her. “But I thought you hated Bernard. Why are you now saying this?” I asked with curiosity. “I never hated Bernard,” she said, and I scoffed in disbelief. “You know he was the one who helped you when you needed help, and I will forever be grateful to him for that,” she said, and I hummed because I understood what she meant. Despite how much I had hated Bernard then, I still couldn't forget the fact that he saved me when I was at the point of death, and I would forever be indebted to him for that.
• “But he is a married man. I can't do that to another woman. Imagine what I would feel if Derick were to do this to me,” I murmured with guilt, and Jane remained silent. It was obvious my words must have gotten to her. We both remained in an awkward silence until Jane spoke. “But Bernard doesn't love you. It's you he loves,” Jane tried convincing me, but I shook my head in disapproval. “That doesn't mean she doesn't love him,” I grumbled, and again Jane went silent. “I should just stop this madness,” I grumbled to myself. “As it should be, this is the right thing to do,” my wolf spoke in my head, but I responded with a frown.
