Chapter 33 Found Dead

• Victoria's POV
• “What do you mean?” I asked Bernard, wanting to be sure I heard him correctly because I couldn't grasp what he was saying. He took a deep breath and sat beside me. “The maid was found dead,” he repeated, his words making my eyes widen. “What?” I asked in disbelief, and he sighed deeply, shaking his head. “My men found her dead body in front of her home,” he said, and a big frown formed on my face. “This is bad,” I muttered, standing up. Panic surged through me as I wondered who could have done it. But then it dawned on me that whoever killed her was the same person who had sent her to poison me. That person had to eliminate her to prevent her from exposing them.
• “This is definitely Tony's work,” my wolf spoke, and I agreed with her. Who else would want me dead if not Tony, who was aiming to take over the throne?
