Chapter 27 Accusations

• Bernard's POV
• “Damn it!” I groaned and frustratedly ran my fingers through my hair. “Is something wrong?” Victoria asked after sensing my mood, but I couldn't respond because I couldn't tell her the truth. She would panic and worry. “All is fine,” I told her and walked to the closet, picking up a pair of black pants and a black button-up T-shirt before returning to the bed.
• “I have to leave for London this minute. I'm really sorry,” I apologized while staring at Victoria, who looked confused and worried. “Is something wrong?” she asked, but I flashed a weak smile and shook my head. All isn't well, but I just couldn't tell her. She's going through a lot, and if she gets to know what just happened, I know it will break her. Besides, it's my mess, so I'll clean it up.
