Chapter 77 Delete All The Records

  • Calm down, Eva. I keep telling myself. What would a hunter do if he took something he didn't want? Use it as bait to lure out real prey? Yes, hunters who want to catch bears don't waste their time on squirrels. Yes, Liv is the squirrel. And I'm the bear in the eyes of the police. What they really want is me. If they didn't have proof that Liv was harboring a criminal, they'd let her go. Then they'll spy on Liv to find me. This is the plan of the police. First, I have to get them to let Liv out. Evidence, right. I had to destroy all the evidence that showed Liv was with me. I suddenly thought of the surveillance cameras in the apartment building. Before the police react, I have to find a way to delete all the records about me. The police car went away and I hid in the dark for a long time before I came out. The apartment building is right next to me. How do I get in? I looked back at the ladder and went back to where I had come from. So I climbed the ladder again. When I crossed the two balconies again, the old man with white hair who had been watching TV didn't look back at me this time. His eyes were fixed on the television screen. As I crossed the dark room, the light in the room suddenly lit up. The owner must have gone home. So I hurried across the balcony with one foot on the edge of the bulging outer wall. I was going so fast that I almost fell out of balance. One of my feet was hanging in the air and I couldn't even look down. I pressed my body against the wall and put my hands on it. After I had stabilized my body, I put my foot back in. The conversation in the room was getting closer, and perhaps the host was approaching the balcony. To avoid being seen, I held my breath and moved my feet forward step by step. Finally, I returned to Liv's apartment, which was a mess. Beer bottles and tissues were scattered on the floor and chairs overturned. Looks like the cops were pretty rough on Liv. I went back to Liv's room and found it ransacked by the police. What the hell are they looking for? I found the location of Liv's safe, which Liv had opened for me in front of me. The clothes in the closet were rummaged out and left on the floor. I reached out and felt for the wooden plank deep in the closet. It was in perfect condition. It seems that the police did not find the safe and its secrets. But I'm not going to take it out now and just leave it there. A flash drive? Is that what the cops were looking for? I didn't have much time to think about it, because now I have more important things to do. Then I looked up the number of the security guard and the location of the security room in Liv's phone book. To break into the room, I thought I'd surprise the men who spend their days in front of the monitors. I grabbed one of Liv's tracksuits from her closet and picked up the lighter that had fallen on the floor. I glanced at the clock on the wall. It was 10 o'clock in the evening. This is the perfect time for nightlife, and anyone who's still on the job is starting to get bored. Pushing the door open, I glanced out through the crack. After making sure there were no strangers in the corridor, I crept out of the room. Instead of taking the elevator down, I took the stairs to the floor where the security room was. I was also surprised to find that the electrical box of the whole apartment was located near the stairs. I hid in the hallway, using my cell phone to call the control room and tell them that the electrical box was on fire. Soon, a man in uniform came out of the surveillance room. He hurried to the location of the electrical box room. When he found that the electric box was on fire, the man hurried to inform his companion with his walkie-talkie. "Baud, call someone. The electrical box is on fire." The man looked for the fire extinguisher, but what he didn't know was that I had already hidden it. I lit the fire on purpose, too. I hid behind the door of the corridor and watched what was happening through the cracks. Black smoke was coming out of the electrical box. I had to sneak into the security room before the power went out. Soon the men's companions arrived, and they had to search everywhere for the fire extinguisher. The door to the security room was open, and I took the opportunity to slip in and close the door as fast as I could while the guards weren't looking. I found the computer connected to the monitor and opened the monitor records folder. I click the mouse to delete, and all the monitoring records have been completely deleted. Just as I was about to leave, I heard footsteps outside the door. S.hit, someone's coming. In desperation, I hid behind the door, which is a very dangerous position. If anyone comes in, they'll find me. The door opens, and a short man in a uniform rushes behind the monitor, grumbling. "I want to find out who's behind this," he said, clicking on the monitor screen to examine it. He soon realized something was wrong. I watched him from behind. As soon as he turned his head, I would jump at him. Just as he turned his head, the lights went out and the room plunged into darkness. The power's out! So I took the opportunity to get out of the door and ran away. The security guard was on my tail. I pushed open the door of the corridor and rushed all the way down. The rapid footsteps echoed through the stairwell. In the faint light of the security light, I ran down several flights of stairs at a time. I'm glad I used to go hunting in the forest with Daley on Puddin Island and I'm used to walking in the dark. But the security guard was not so lucky. Unfortunately, he fell to the ground. I heard him inform his companions. "Block all exits. She's getting away. Hurry!" Damn, I have to run faster. As the apartment was in chaos due to a power outage, many residents rushed to the exits, and I took advantage of the chaos to follow them out of the apartment amid the crowd. As I followed the crowd down the street, a fire engine honked behind me. I looked back at the people who were still running out of their apartments, and it seemed that tonight's surprise was enough. Looking at the street lights in front of me, I realized that I had nothing on me but a cell phone. Penniless, I went to a nearby park, slumped on a bench and looked at the empty lawn in front of me. The street lamp cast a lone slender shadow. My stomach was already wailing with hunger. So I took out my cell phone and opened the address book. A strange number suddenly appeared in my line of sight. 'I'm sure you'll come back to me.' Daley's words rang in my ears. Am I supposed to show him weakness?
