Chapter 13 The Position

• I parked my car in an open-air parking lot in front of the Moore family company. It was a 70-story office tower, and the Moore family was involved in a wide range of businesses, half of which were gray businesses. There are hundreds of people working in the building. People come in and out every day. Everyone has their own desk, except me.
• When Ron and I first got married, he showed me around his company. On the surface, he wanted me to learn about his family's business, but the truth was that he wanted to show me his power so that I could persuade my father to buy shares in their company.
• Our marriage was a business marriage, but it took my father about a year to decide to take a stake in Ron's company after we were married, and then he sent Gina to the company.
