Chapter 9 Nine

  • "What--what are you doing?" Sanaya started trudging backward as he was stepping forward. He was making her nervous.
  • "Nothing much. I just want to test it, `` he asserted, not moving his eyes off her.
  • "Test? Test what?", She glanced at him questioningly but she was not getting a good feeling by the way he was looking at her. He was definitely thinking of doing something. Oh no! Did he understand her lying? She bit her tongue. Oh god, no. She prayed to her God.
  • "Whether you are really into girls or not.", He smirked devilishly as he kept strolling forward. Sanaya wanted to run away. Wait, what! He wanted to test whether she was interested in girls or… which means he was going to… NO!!! Sanaya thought she would push him away and run away when he held her hand and pushed her to the wall suddenly, making her more nervous.
  • Sanaya swallowed hard as his eyes met her, his breathing was touching her forehead now. She needed to stop him anyhow. The way he was looking at her, she was super nervous. Her heart was racing against a horse, who was going to win? Sanaya kept praying, "Hey Maa Tara(a Hindu goddess), please save me."
  • "There's nothing to test. I am really interested in girls. Whenever I see girls I feel like they are… they are the… angels of the universe. So beautiful…", she had both of her hands over her chest to protect herself while complimenting girls. Nick held her one hand saying, "Really? I got it. But Sanaya, did you notice something?" As he asked, she couldn't understand what it was. She said, "What…"
  • His eyes were fixed on her eyes and then they got a hold on her chest, Sanaya moved her hands over her chest quickly. Nick smiled and she coughed, clearing her throat, "It was just… it's you know it's a habit. An old habit, like we all have habits and I have this bad habit, it's been so long but still, I don't know why I couldn't get rid of my bad habit."
  • "Well, I can understand. I can help you to get rid of this, I mean your BAD HABIT.", As he exclaimed, Sanaya glanced at him. Only then she noticed how close they were, those attractive green eyes of his were like a mirror. She could see her face in them. He leaned over and she thought he was going to kiss her but he said in a low voice while looking at her, "Are you nervous?"
  • "No, I am not.", She said looking at him.
  • "Really? Then…", Suddenly he pulled her by her waist, their chest touching each other. Her cheeks were burning red. Before she could push him away with her little strength, he touched her chin with his other hand. On the edge of the ending of her lies, she didn't know what to do anymore. She could only pray to him to let her go but she was not supposed to do so. If she was to do that, he would understand that she was just lying.
  • "I think we should go in. My friends are waiting for…", Sanaya tried to get rid of him but he didn't let her finish as he leaned over and put his head on her shoulder. She was interrupted by his sudden movement. As if she was frozen she didn't even have enough strength to push him away or tell him to move.
  • "Oi, what is he doing?", Sanaya was mumbling. It was true that she couldn't resist such a handsome man's handsomeness for some time but she needed to at least try to get away from him. He was such a danger to her. He was digging for her information, he asked her for marriage even though she was rejecting him, she didn't want to think what was next.
  • "What are you mumbling? Do you wanna say that you are feeling touched?" He said without looking at her. She was about to say something when he hugged her gently, slowly wrapping both of his arms around her so she could feel the warmth in his hug.
  • "I…", oh Sanaya. As if words were stuck in her throat she couldn't say anything.
  • "Congratulations!", She heard him saying. Subconsciously a smile left her mouth. She stayed quiet so was he. For a moment she didn't do anything. She couldn't remember when was the last time she felt this warmth like she was getting from him, she remembered one night she was crying.
  • Grandpa has punished her and nobody including her parents was allowed to go to her. She was standing outside, crying in the rain. She was soaking in the rain but nobody could take her inside, not listening to grandpa's order would make them get punishment as well.
  • Sanaya was lost, she knew what just happened. Nick moved away, looking at him she could see his smile as if he was proud of his actions.
  • "I… it was nothing. I didn't feel anything, you… there was no warmth, nothing. I think if it was a girl then I would feel…", as she said it he held her hand, "Really? Then why did you stay quiet? You could just push me away but you let me stay that way?"
  • "Trust me. I am telling the truth."
  • "I see. Fine.", He moved more away when she kept looking at him. The tall figure was walking away slowly and slowly it was taking its warmth away from her along with it.
  • "Hey, are you okay? Where is he? Left?" Suddenly seeing Clara she got out of her world. Sanaya walked towards her and then said, "Yeah. I think he won't come here again."
  • "What made you think so?" Clara asked her.
  • Walking in the house she answered, "Will tell you later." And she smiled. Clara nodded her head, "Ok. I also hope that he won't bother you again."
  • **
  • Nick was sitting on the couch while having a glass of wine in his hand. The warmth he was supposed to feel, he actually felt it but he didn't like it yet he wanted to stay that way for a while. He wanted to live that moment, in someone's warmth.
  • "No warmth. She felt no warmth…" he mumbled while looking at the glass of wine, moving the glass in his hand slowly making the wine in the glass dancing.
  • He was alone, the music, wine, and loneliness that he always loved. He started humming with the song he was listening at a low volume.
  • After going back he took a shower and then sat on the sofa.
  • When he was humming his eyes caught on the blue file on the table. Putting the glass aside he took the file in his hand.
  • As he opened it he saw the first page. Her information… he remembered it took him times to pronounce her name and her fiance's name. He kept practicing before talking to Sanaya, when he called her by her name he could sway it just because he has tried pronouncing it.
  • A little sigh left his mouth. Throwing the file on the table he put his body on the couch and then he closed his eyes, putting his hand over his forehead. He was going to be always alone, alone and alone… he told himself.
