Chapter 40 The Fallout

• The grand hall of our estate echoed with the sound of my father’s growl, a deep, guttural noise that sent shivers down my spine. His voice was like thunder, reverberating off the walls and filling the room with an oppressive tension. I stood in the center of the room, my shoulders stiff, my jaw clenched as I faced him. His eyes, usually calm and calculating, were now dark with anger, the outer rim of his irises turning black as his wolf threatened to surface.
• “What the fuck were you thinking?” he roared, his voice shaking the very foundations of the room. His fists were clenched at his sides, his chest heaving with barely contained rage. “Were you insane?”
