Chapter 75 The Spell

  • Isla’s POV
  • Walking away from Aaron as he informed me that he planned to call upon my mother made me feel a mixture of emotions.
  • My mother. It had been a while since I had seen her. Of course, I missed her. However, Aaron was my mate, and I could not let my hybrid nature be known if his family rejected me. After what had happened to his mother when he was young, I understood the reason why but I hated having to hide who I indeed was. Being distant from my own family was a choice I had made to be able to live peacefully with my mate. He was my world and more, and I would do anything for him. However, with everything going on, it wasn't easy to keep that side of me silent. Cleo yearned to be in control, to rip that bitch Mrs Jenkins apart. She thought she was going around destroying hybrids for their powers. She had so much to answer for. All the innocent lives she had taken, and all for what exactly? Some greed to be known as the most powerful in the witch and werewolf realm. She would fail. She would not ever lay her disgusting eyes on that child. She was safe with me and Aaron. I would die protecting her. The most precious thing to me. “Isla, we need to call on your mother.” Aaron’s words echoed in my mind so loudly that it was hard to switch it off. As Aaron's words reverberate, I feel a mix of emotions within me. Calling on my mother would mean revealing my hybrid nature, my true self, to his family. While I yearn to reunite with my mother, the fear of rejection and potential consequences weigh heavily on my heart.
