• A few days passed, and I sat in the lounge; my mother sat beside me and placed her hands in her lap, a smile spread across her beautiful face.
• “Carrie, you are exceptional. I think your mother would be proud despite the differences between me and her. If she were still alive, she would be brimming with pride over how you have turned out.” I smiled, unsure how to respond. I knew the history between my biological mother and Isla. She was the woman who had bought me up and always been honest with me about where I had come from. I knew my mother's name was Mora, and she had been the chosen mate of Isla’s first destined mate, but I didn't know much about my birth father.
