Chapter 4
- Novah's POV
- With shaky fingers, I received the pen from him and proceeded to sign the documents without bothering to read through it.
- “Here,” I passed the document to him, ignoring the look I was receiving from the woman he was strangling earlier.
- “Good!” He nodded as he turned in the direction of the woman, “My wife, Jaylen Gunnar.” He pointed at the woman and immediately, she stormed out, banging the door shut.
- Her reaction was the least of my concerns as I wasn't going to have anything to do with her.
- According to Doctor Fernandes, I was going to be inseminated, that was all and not going to lie, I sincerely hoped I wouldn't be the one to carry his heir.
- “According to the document which you had signed, the moment the child is weaned, you have no right over the child anymore.” His deep voice brought me back to consciousness.
- Nodding, I replied, “That's fine by me.”
- With my lips pressed tightly together, I began to fiddle with my fingers, expecting more words from but he refused to spill.
- The moment I raised my head, we locked eyes only for him to say, “By six pm today, come meet me at the presidential suite, my driver will be here to pick you up at the hospital.”
- After this, he walked out of the office, banging the door shut.
- Immediately he was gone, I snapped my head towards Doctor Fernandes who wore a worried look, making me even more terrified.
- “What is he talking about?” I asked, my heart lunged in my mouth.
- “I bet he has more things to discuss with you.” I said, turning his back on me.
- “But he can discuss it with me here… I mean… if it's confidential, he can as well…”
- “Novah!” He cut in as he held my shoulder. “I know you are terrified but you shouldn't worry yourself too much.” He mused.
- “You should be grateful that your mom is getting her operation and that is enough reason why you should be grateful.” He sang like a canary.
- Something doesn't seem right about this no matter the direction I looked from.
- Especially from the reaction of his wife.
- According to Doctor Fernandes, this wasn't the first time he was attempting surrogacy and his wife had been in support of it, so why did she react that way?
- Blinking my eyes, I sent my fingers into my hair and then began to comb through it, trying to forget about the scene that had just happened.
- “You know what Novah, you should get some rest.” Doctor Fernandes' voice broke into my thoughts.
- The accident wasn't as serious as I had thought and so a few hours before I would get to see Riana Gunnar, I was discharged.
- On the other hand, the surgery on my mother was concluded and immediately I got to know she had been moved to the ward, I hurried to meet with her.
- “When is she going to wake up?” I blurted to the nurse who was in the ward on my arrival.
- “I don't know the exact time but she is certainly going to come around, don't worry yourself too much.” She flashed me a kind smile before taking her leave.
- Now sitting next to my mother, I held her hand and with a smile tugging the side of my lips, I pushed my hair behind my ear.
- “I thought I was going to lose you mother.” I muttered, the smile on my face disappearing only for me to start sobbing uncontrollably.
- A few moments later, I drifted into a light sleep that didn't last long because Doctor Fernandes came to fetch me and off I went with Riana’s driver.
- During the drive to the hotel, I kept muttering prayers to my maker for my safety as this was going to be the first time we would be meeting each other alone.
- The thought of it terrified me but somehow I was able to keep my calm.
- On arrival, without a word to me, the driver led me to his room and the moment I was inside, he shut the door, leaving me with Riana who was staring out of the window.
- “You should clean up.” He said, not bothering to cast me a glance.
- “Pardon?” I couldn't help but to voice out as sweat broke out on my forehead at once.
- “You heard me…”
- “I thought we were going to talk about raising the kid… why do I need to clean up.” I muttered. “Also, Doctor Fernandes said I was going to be inseminated, nothing…”
- With the speed of lightning, he appeared in front of me and immediately, his hand went around my neck, his cologne messing with my nostrils.
- “You do what I say and not what Fernandes says to you.” He said, instilling fear inside of me but I wouldn't back down so easily.
- “This is not right! If this was your intention, you should have said so from the beginning and I wouldn't have accepted.” I cried out.
- When he didn't say a word to me, I thought I had gained the upper hand only for him to tear my dress off my body with one single pull.
- Left in my lingerie, I tried to cover myself with my hands but it wouldn't go around my body.
- “Please, don't hurt me.” I cried but he didn't flinch, instead he stood there, staring at me like a predator will to its prey.
- With tears polling in my eyes, I began to regret my decision of accepting to be his surrogate.
- If I had known he was going to have sex with me, I wouldn't have agreed to it.
- “Please!” I cried, but before I could fall to my knees, he scooped me off the floor and then laid me on the bed.
- With my heart ramming against my chest, I watched as he took off his clothes piece by piece until he was bare before me.
- Against the initial agreement of being inseminated, we had sex that night and being the first man that I had sex with, he broke my hymen.
- “You’re a monster.” I cried, lying on my back as he cleaned me up. I had said this because he went against the contract but t
- here was nothing I could do.
- “Shut up, would you?” He snarled, his eyes darkened with anger.
