• There was sudden silence as he said that, a feeling of awkwardness and solemness that hung heavily in the air when the words tumbled out. Even Ella, who had no idea what was being talked about fell silent too, as if aware that whatever was being talked about was worthy of such silence. She could see the pained expression on their faces, but Amelia refused to speak up and respond to him. She looked the most affected by those words, and Ella couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.
